Attention Window Lickers: Enterprise bought us (Vanguard) because they have been very unsuccessful at breaking into the airport market. Sure, they have a great business model for Insurance replacement rentals, that is their strong suit. Airport business is our strong suit. So see, it kinda makes sense for them.

I am sure they will cut jobs...but I would bet it will be at the regional level. Enterprise simply does not at this time have enough staff to put their people in charge of every existing Vanguard location. See, I'm kinda betting on the fact that with my 4.5 years experience, willingness to learn, and 4 year degree I will keep my job.

As for the bonus and the car...we'll see. All I have seen is what is on this site and jobvent...which is mostly negative. I am willing to admit that might be a little tainted, but its kind of funny there is no "medium" with Enterprise. It seems to be you either hate it or love it, with no in between. I know some of the Enterprise staff in my area, and they love it.

Since this was all just announced late Friday (I got the email from my company at 4:58pm) nobody really knows anything right now. Its fun to come on here and speculate, see what ideas are being thrown around, but to come on here and talk shit is idiotic. Remember kids, fighting in online forums is like winning the special olympics...you may win the battle, but you are still a fucking retard.

Its not that Enterprise doesn't know how to run an airport branch, its that they can not buy the space in airports to compete effectively. They crush vanguard in JD power surveys which grade airports exclusively. Enterprise doesn't really care about Vanguards management techniques or ideas, they just want the increase in market share.

Oh you naive Vanguard employees. Ok, so this site is negative. But this only reflects a small fraction of people, ya right!

By this time next year, this site will be infiltrated by former Vanguard employees who just witnessed the culture of their company pull a 180.
So in advance, hold on, here it comes......I told you so. HAHAHA. Suckers!

Hi. I found out when I went to work on Sunday and I must say.. I am very disappointed. I knew something was going on with Vanguard but why did they have to be bought by the worst car rental place? Enterprise is a joke. Enterprise doesn't belong in the airport and they know it. That's why they are excited about buying Vanguard. Alamo has the leisure customers. National has the business and ERAC has the retards. Sorry. Biased opinion I guess. ERAC employees are stuck up... and for what? You spent 4 years in college to get a degree only to be hired at a car rental place. Seriously. are you for real? Did you know thats what you signed up for. ERAC only hires people straight out of college with no prior sales exp.
I work for Vanguard and make more than ERAC, without my 4 year degree and I come from a retail background. ERAC is a disgrace. I can't wait to finish school and find a new job before the deal is finalized this summer. This sucks!

Why would it suck if you're leaving?

Wow this is some funny banter. To the girl that worked in retail prior to Vangaurd. You think that going back to school is going to greatly increase your salary? Do you plan on becoming a Doctor? Most branch managers at ERAC make about 70 - 80k a year. Once you become a area manager you can expect six figures. City manager 150 - 200k. Sure you have to grind it out for a few years at 30 - 40k however if you are motivated and have intelligence and people skills the pay is limitless. Unless you are highly skilled and extremely intelligent don't get your hopes up for making more than 50k right out of college. By the way many CEO's and VP's make about 300 - 1.5m a year. Do you realize how many individuals make this kind of money at ERAC?

What a DRONE this chump is!!! Don't listen to him - his data is about 10 years old. Perhaps in the late 90's around the height of the ERAC growth boom BM's made $70-80k. I'd be VERY surprised if ANY *NEW* BM's make that, and I knew several area managers that only made $60-70k.

The days of great pay for mid-level managers is over. Many City Managers and GM's still make very good money, but good luck getting into one of those positions - seems all the stars have to align just right for you to even have a shot at ARM let alone GRM or GM.

Since I've left ERAC, I've doubled my salary in less than a year. And I have a REAL job, not some car-washing, suit-ruining, pimp-chasing 60-hour a week nightmare like I used to.

Trust me - ERAC CAN be a good starter job, but NO ONE should count on it being anything more.

Gee, I wonder how many people at Vanguard are going to get laid off after all is said and done. I pity those poor employees who moved from Florida to Oklahoma when Vanguard relocated its HQ to Tulsa. POOR SOULS!!! I sure hope most of them are already looking for work.

Not to argue one way or another, just sayin. I have been a branch manager in group 32 for about 11 months and I am going to make between 68 and 72 depending on the next few checks. Just fyi. Probably just depends on where you are. No guy running in a branch in nebraska deserves to make that
