This is just like Avis/Budget.. Avis and Budget are not going to be one company, they are still keeping the Avis and Budget names. Just as Enterprise, Alamo and National will remain separate.

No one can say for sure, but it makes sense:

Budget: low cost provider
Avis: quality provider

ERAC: low cost provider
National: Corporate/Airport provider
Alamo: leisure/vacation traveler

The only two companies left to merge which would follow the same business plan would be if Hertz merged with Dollar-Thrifty.

Reread your press releases ! Currently Enterprise has a clinch on Insurance replacement and higher paying leisure renters. National has the clinch on the business side. Alamo has the clinch on the leasure informed renter. All three will remain seperate entities. Service will remain the same by brand.
Doubt it. Alamo used to write off as the cost of doing business what Enterprise will try to do to you with sandpaper wrapped with barbed wire. Needless to say, no lube.

ERAC couldn't possibly be dumb enough to make one big company out of the three. National does in fact have business customers and huge corporate accounts. I guess those people could go to Hertz if they had to.
Alamo is the car rental of Disney. Why would ERAC screw that up? Then again, Alamo sucks.
The thing that concerned me is the fact that Nat/Alamo are very lienent about damage to the car. Their customers know that and once they rent from ERAC they are going to be hit with damage charges.

Being able to walk out and choose your car is the best thing Nat/Alamo has. Hopefully they wont take that away.

I am finishing up my last week because I found a better paying job. I think all car rental companies have their flaws but yes, ERAC made me nervous.
Vanguard was owned by stockholders and knew jack shit about renting cars. ERAC is a car rental company, some good should come from this.. right? lol

As long as Hertz survives, that's all I am hoping for.

Come to Hertz we will take care of...As a former Vanguard employee I Know Evil E will not care about Your Emerald Status...Luxery cars that is a JOKe, Evil E doesn't carry or guarentee those...

Where as at HERTZ we not only Carry them we actually GUARENTEE them... If you RESERVE an Escalade or a HUMMER with Sirus Satelitte or NEVER LOST (GPS) YOU GET IT!!! That is why I am working for the number one car rental...

Evil E bought Alamo/National so that they could say they are the Largest car rental... They own the most fleet, but their FLEET Sucks... So does their customer service... I just had 5 customers last week say they willl never Rent again unless it is with Hertz...

At Hertz are prices are awesome, we even PRICE MATCH, WE PICK YOU UP TOO, and We are even NICE... So Emerald Club, Fast Break members and anyone else BECOME a GOLD MEMBER with HERTZ where Customer Service is #1...

Hertz employees are treated so much better than Evil E's... That is why this site remains, because Enterprise employees are on this site always Bitchin about there company...

Beware Vanguard employees get out while you can... You won't have a BONUS for LONG If Evil E has anything to say about it... Long hours and NO PAY that is the Evil WAY!!!!
