Default Enterprise--just one of many!

I've had years of finding Hertz doing similar rip offs. A common one is to have the counter guy forgit some of the things promised when the phone reservation was made. Complementary second driver, assured on the phone for example, turns into $5 per day when you get to the counter. Capitalism today, what a great system (but, then, it's better than the alternatives). Don't get me started on the increasing miss-match between supermarket labeled prices and the deal you actually get at the checkk out line (buyer, BEWARE).

Default customer service

Customer service is all about selling the customer extra benefits at the counter, well that what the ERAC sales manual saya. And if that doesnt work, you just invent some damage and slam their credit card. I was made to do it numerous times until i walked out.

Default What are you talking about

Hertz nor Avis nor National do those things. They do educate you on your options and you do have a choice.

There is no forced sale....or 5 to 6 NO's like good old ERAC.

Show me the Hertz Gold.....Where is ERAC on this?

Calling BS on Ms01. If you did work at ERAC you would know that you cannot hit a CC for damage. By the way, I must have missed the day they passed out the sales manual. They must have just given it to the people who couldn't figure it out themselves. Lastly, you should also know that you sell up and sell waiver on the lot, not the counter.

Sorry to correct every point of your post. I am an ex employee and glad to be gone. I did, however, learn a lot and having it on my resume has got me more than one job offer since...

Of course yu can slam their card - My area manager was keen on that. Hell he even ran cards at month end so that bad debt numbers didnt look terrible and lost a Merc account for it.

Why do you think we got CCard numbers anyway?

This is true. Any charges, damage, rental, whatever must be approved by the customer prior to charging the card. This is a federal law and ERAC and you could be in big trouble for violating it. We have been specifically trained that we cannot even make a charge to stay current on deposits without first contacting the customer.

You are wrong my friend.

I must be missing something with this entire website. Customers-go rent with Hertz, Avis or some other car rental company and employees-go work somewhere else. The bitching in this website is absolutely ridiculous. Don't you have something else better to do?

If we can just save ONE person from making the mistake we did by accepting the job, this site has served a valid purpose. It will save a lot of employee's aggravation, and hell, maybe even prevent some liver damage...or maybe a marriage!! My bet is this site is educating hundreds of potential hires monthly to avoid this deal at all costs....and for that Admin...this Bud is for you! (by the way....Sober for 956 days since that last erac happy hour and still going strong...LOL)

This site has so much activity from former employees compared to other companies because this company flat out SCREWS employees...and sells it to them like they are the best company ever created. It wasn't a normal work experience by any means. New college grads are taken advantage of BIGTIME....and people don't forget something like that. That is why there is so much anger in these posts. Employees got used and abused, turned and burned..., and we just dont want it to happen to others....PERIOD. Whether or not that was the original intention for Admin's website or not....you have to agree that there are A LOT of pissed off employees....more than a normal company. You are correct brainwashed eracer's..it's not normal that there would be this many former employees of a company complaining.....willing to spend personal time to bring their experiences to light, but I think many would agree with me that they ARE willing to do it because they were treated THAT BADLY by this company. I think their employment practices are BARELY legal.

Example: Whats the deal with "SALARY...plus overtime" anyway???? That makes NO SENSE! you are paid HOURLY...take your salary divided by 80 hours (bi monthly) and there you go...HOURLY...plus overtime. They just don't want to tell you that because it comes out to such a ridiculous wage per hour. You realize that resulted from an employment wage lawsuit too, right? Interviewee's...wanna have some fun??...try this: Have a branch manager explain to you IN DETAIL how overtime is calculated. Have them break it down....in detail. They can't! Don't let them off the hook. Keep asking them what the hourly overtime wage is. It is COMICAL and you will see what a joke this company really is. Even worse...there are a large percentage of managers that don't even know what their employees base pay levels are in general (lets forget overtime cause none of them know it) ...and these are the BRANCH MANAGERS...your potential BOSS!
