My fiancee's mom actually had signed the contract, and when it was gone over with us, nothing seemed out of the ordinary, even with insurance costs. It was the end result that was different, but, like I said, you get nowhere when trying to resolve issues with them.

The case is going to the next level in their litigations process for appropriate actions against Enterprise. Also know that I attempted to resolve this matter through the regional manager for that office, and when I asked him to come-up with the tapes from the national reservation line, he was very smug and confident, saying he would get back to me in 10 minutes...that was a couple of months ago. I feel I took the appropriate steps in resolving my matter. And, I'm sorry, 10% off of a bill that was almost $1,000, when it should've been around $300.00 (with insurance) just doesn't cut it. Also, cut and dry, false advertisement is false advertisement. When a national chain advertises: "We'll pick you up," they should make sure their stores are staffed well-enough to follow through on that promise. Granted, people do get sick, but, when there is only one person staffing a store, it makes you wonder what kind of operation they are truly running. I also wanted to stress that the state attorney general, like any attorney, doesn't take a case unless they know there is ground in it. They just wouldn't have that kind of time to look into multiple cases that didn't have proof to back them up. Just a thought.
Can you post a copy of the letter?

How do you get to $1,000 from $300? Please explain.

"We'll pick you up" does not mean that we'll pick you up under any circumstance no matter where you are or if you arranged it ahead of time or not. You have to think on realistic terms. Could you call a NYC branch to pick you up in Boston? Sounds ridiculous, well, there has to be a line somewhere.

Your a liar. I called (212) 416-8433 and there is no case involving Enterprise and this person. The District Clerks office has no case NO CASE and it would take months before the State Attorney would take action.

It would only hurt the case if I posted a copy of the letter and all of my contract information was provided. I wouldn't post the letter, because I do know it could hurt the case. Also, there are many Enterprise Rent-a-Cars in the state of New York. Notice, I didn't provide the branch, either. So, you can post things on a website, as long as you're smart about it. Honestly, I wanted to check the track record of this company, and as I see it, other people had bad experiences with them as well. I didn't expect to get the response from this that I did. I actually wanted to let people know that there is something they can do about wrong-doings in this company. One other thing, though, Enterprise already knows there is a case pending. I also think that you can't brand all stores as bad, because there are some that are run legitimately. I have to say that I have dealt with some good ones. This particular store wasn't run well. I do believe, however, that there have been enough complaints against the corporation that does give it a bad name. Other cases have been filed against the company, here are the names of a couple: Delaney v. Enterprise Rent-a-Car (Docket No. OCN-L-1160-01) and
Roberts v. Enterprise Rent-A-Car Company of Boston. Feel free to look them up.

I beg to differ...there IS a case, I will not jeopardize the case, and what moron checks to see if there is a case when they have no information on that case to look it up? It would also help if you had the correct area of New York. I think you need to do some research before you say anything and make sure your facts are straight.

I know all about this case and which branch you are speaking of. It is a VERY well run office. I myself do not work there, but I know the results they get. Enterprise is taking this case very seriously, even though we have done nothing wrong, we are just very image conscious. Of course you'll see many complaints and bad experiences with this company. If you do 100,000 transactions per day, and 1% of them goes wrong, you have 100 bad experiences. That's the nature of business. Enterprise was fully within legal guidelines in your case, but the nature of your complaint is sensitive, therefore both the AG and ERAC take it seriously. This is a statement of someone that knows what they are talking about, and I'm not just mindlessly agreeing with ERAC on the issue, but I know the facts and know the legal guidelines.
