Walter,
I hear you, man, but I guess I never expected it to be so difficult to find a replacement vehicle at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning in a city of some size. It's not as if I got stranded in Mayberry.
As I said, my main beef is with the drunk driver. I'm not blaming any one person at Enterprise, and I could understand the lack of assistance if I'd been stranded in Outer Mongolia. Let's just say the tone of the folks at their call center left a lot to be desired. If some of the other posters on this thread are indeed Enterprise employees, then I will obviously be well served to take my business elsewhere and avoid future collisions with wrong-way drunk drivers.

first of all understand you are not gonna get very good info from this site
most peeps here are pissy towards ERAC and ERAC customers.
but, with that being said, i would imagine renting from other companies is not gonna make that much of a big difference...unless they are open when you call, good luck getting assitance.
sounds like a major pain in the ass, at least it's over

Walter,
I think the problem is I completely misinterpreted the purpose of this site. I wasn't trying to get into a pissing match with disgruntled Enterprise employees or blame the company for my accident.
I stumbled on to this message board the other day and assumed it was a place for consumers to share stories and air grievances. I merely wanted to find out if other renters had experienced similar difficulties or if I was wrong in thinking the company dropped the ball in not providing assistance.
Nothing more.
I'll now yield the floor to the poor souls stuck in barely-above-minimum wage jobs with Enterprise whose primary joy in life seems to come from jousting with customers.
Carry on.

You have done nothing wrong, the people giving you hell on this site still work for ERAC, and are bitter that they feel they can't get out. I used to be
one of them, and would have probably said the same thing when I worked there, as that is the corporate mentality. Rent from someone else next time, and tell your friends, that's the only way to make a difference.

It took a little longer than 30 minutes so I just stiffed the guy on the tip and considered it even.
ROFLMAO!

One last shout-out to Collared Greens before I depart this message board for good:
I wore a penguin-skin condom the last time I did your mom.
Might have found your initial post humorous except for the fact I could have gotten killed. Glad some of you find that so amusing.
Sincerely hope it never happens to any of you.

Seriously, how does almost dying make you less of a tool? Be an adult, its not like you are the only person to get in an accident before. You got a room after the incident, a good nights rest, and you still act like a jackass the next day? Maybe my mother wasn't there to tuck you in and give you a bowl of ice cream but you really need to grow some nads bro.

BTW, if they haven't found the car yet, they are still charging your credit card for the rental. Did you get Damage Waiver?
