My Area Manager Tried To Beat ME Up

My area manager tried to beat me up. I got into a argument with my area manager today about picking a customer up at 6:30 after the branch was supposed to be closed and he threatened to beat me up. We were closing down the branch about 6:10 when a customer called a half hour away and it went down hill from there. My area manger was in my branch today and of course when the phone rang my manger answered it and it was someone that needed a car and she thought she would send me. I refused. I said I have been here since 7am and its 10 after 6 I want to go home the branch is supposed to be closed by now anyway. My area manager jumped up and said you better go pick up this customer now – this is how we work around here – the phone rings you go!!! So I was like I am not going, I told my area manager you can go yourself if you want the customer that bad. He then got in my face and said do you wan to go outside and handle this man to man  I was kinda shocked and laughing at the same time and I was like ok I guess. So he marched to the door and walked out and I followed, and we got outside and he said to me – “We can do this the easy way are the hard way, I can embarrass you and wipe your face all over this concrete or you can go pick up the customer. I started laughing and was like  are you kidding, I said wipe my face and then he just looked at me with big enterprise mad look and said go home Ill deal with you tomorrow.
What should I do now…

If it was just you two, with no witnesses, no one will believe you. Just document everything, in writing, and use it for when they fire you. Lots of luck!

Too bad he didn't take a swing, at least you could have had that on your side. Make sure you write down word for word what happened and stay consistent with your story. If you need to enhance the story, make sure you are consistent with that too. Do you have anyone that could be a witness, even if they were not there? If you need to lie about this to help your case do it, but do it carefully. We know your scumbag AM will lie so you should lie to, just to even it up. Walk into the office first thing in the morning and sock him in the jaw. Just say he punched you first and you'll be pressing charges. Remember, to let him get one punch in so your story will hold up.

in this case, both of you are in the wrong. im not exactly sure about erac internal policy, but i would think he could possibly write you up for insubordination and it depends on erac internal policy and its mop in place. on the other side of the coin, your arm was wrong in verbally threatening to do bodily harm to you. workplace violence is a serious issue. i recommend you contact your local police dept. and file a threatening case against your arm. it is important for you to state in your written sworn statement you felt "afraid and threatened" by his verbal statements and you "feared for your physical well-being". this specific language must be used to obtain the elements of a threat. i would then file a case with the new york eeoc office (800-669-4000) and initiate a hostile work environment case against your arm. the eeoc is on the federal side and they investigate these claims thoroughly as long as you take the step to initiate a case. i can guarantee your arm will shit his pants and you will force erac to make a decision and the right decision. what you really want is for erac or your arm to retaliate after you have filed your claim but you will not be so fortunate as erac would not be so stupid although you may luck out since there are so many incompetent e-monkies in decision making positions.....if so, more power to you and you will go laughing to the bank. good luck and keep us posted.

My area manager used to beat me up all the time! He hit me once for looking at him the wrong way. He used to put on soccer cleats and kick me in the adam's apple. I hated working there at that time. One time I tried to kick him in the junk, and he caught my leg then gave me a purple nurple.

IF I WAS YOU AND MY MGR ANSWERED THE PHONE AFTER WE WERE CLOSED, I WOULD MAKE HER GET THE CUST. DO YOU HAVE KIDS? WELLTHE I HAVE TO P/U MY KID ALWAYS WORKS. A FELLOW CO WORKER HAD PROBLEMS WITH HER MGR, SO BAD TO THE POINT SHE STARTED BRINGING A MINI RECORDER TO WORK AND RECORDED HIM SEXUALLY/VERBALLY PURSUING HER AND IT HAPPENED THAT THE FIRST TIME SHE BROUGHT IT IN, HE MADE A HUGE MOVE ON HER AND WHILE SHE WAS CLEARLY SCREAMING NO, HE FORCED HIMSELF AND TRIED TO RAPE HER. THE TAPE HELD UP IN COURT AND HE WAS FIRED. DONT KNOW IF THIS HELPS BUT DONT LET ANY ECHIMP PUSH YOU AROUND. THEY ONLY DO IT TO MAKE THMSELFVES FELL INFERIOR TO EVERONE ELSE.
