At the very least you should consult an attorney.

As far as chain of command. Loss control is not the be all, end all. They are more concerned with vehicle and damage recovery. They won't give a rat's ass about your situation. You should try to contact an exec in the St. Louis office. Or try to reach Andy Taylor directly.
Today I decided enough, is enough. I used erac's email format and got through to a couple of execs., while at the same time calling Loss Control in Washington. The LC Supervisor finally called me back saying that she was looking into and that Mr. Taylor forwarded my email to her telling her to fix the problem! Sounds good, I am just hoping that they follow through. Thanks for all of your information and support. I appreciate it and will keep everyone posted.

Let me add. I also received a letter, which I still have, from ERAC stating that they were going to add me to their do not rent database.

Could someone decipher this for me.

It is a code on a letter that was sent to me: DX45B7ASD

I think that the 45 is GRP 45 and the B7 is Seatac?

Thanks.

The DX number is the internal report number for enterprise. When they did the Damage/Loss report it generated that number for reference. It has nothing to do with anything else.

That's a blessing in disguise.

45B7 is the Sea-Tac Airport branch. Nicknamed "THE BEAST" because it handles soooo much traffic and the biggest branch in the group. It was (and still is) ran by a bunch of incompetent tools---all managed by a worthless oaf who loves to scratch his crotch while talking to his employees.

45B7 has an agreement with a hotel (south of the branch) to accept after-hours drop AND shuttle ERAC customers to the airport. There are dedicated parking spots for customers to park the rentals. Although hotel employees are not allowed to drive the rentals, it is not entirely implausible for one of them to move a vehicle (if parked in a wrong spot) and misplaced your keys.

If your communication from Andy Taylor fails to remedy this situation in your favor, I would definitely hire an attorney just as everyone has recommended.

Good luck!

I wish I could name those I have spoken to in the past two weeks! I am certain that there would be some stories. Anyway, looks like I need to get a lawyer. Woof, $15K+! At least he wants to pursue Enterprise when my end is taken care of to recoup my costs...which will add up quick with me having to miss 2-6 weeks of work!

One more question:am I able to get the "files" that Loss Control Has? What about information on past rentals...that I also didn't steal, and have dropped at the hotel down the road......?

Thank you.

Yeah, if you subpoena that information then they have to cough it up.

It sounds like they are trying to scare you into paying. I would think that they would fold pretty quickly when they see you have represenatation.

What ever became of that warrant?

HI, I'm really interested in what has become of your case as I, amother of 5, am being charged with theft of a chevy truck as ERAC only provided the detective with record of 2 cash payments not the 12 I paid with credit card...so now I have a warrant out for my arrest and then to sting even more, the detective said if I took care of any outstanding monies owed they would drop all charges with the recovery head guys okay...and guess what NO ONE is allowed to take my payment and he won't take my calls nor respond to my messages and I'm told that he is the top of the ladder and NOONE not even CORPORATE big wigs dare go over his head...what is ERAC the gestapo mafia family and he is the don!!!!
I am at wits end to say the least and need help. I have never met a company that pursued things on a personal level not corporate advantage level. They have the truck and would rather prosecute for something that wasn't theft and push his point tand making an example instead of clearing their bottom line. They had multiple lines of contact and failed to tell the police the change of phone numbers that they had listed so in effect they manipulated the police into pressing charges that I was not guilty of!!!
I am horrified and completely bewildered!!! I have no money for a legal battle which will cost at least 6500 to begin and remove the warrant.
Any suggestions
