I'd get an attorney. It takes more then a few hundred miles for a car to throw a rod. Also, if you repair shops you are friendly with I'd talk to them to get their point of view as well. What was the response from your insurance company?

Cars that have no oil in them tend to throw rods. Cars that have no oil in them usually have a missing oil pan bolt. Cars with missing oil pan bolts usually have missing bolts because the person who serviced the car last forgot to tighten the bolt properly. It happened in my group. __________________ When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace. -Sri Chinmoy Ghose

Man, that's an endorsement money can't buy! __________________ "Don't worry about what anybody else is going to do. The best way to predict the future is to invent it." -- Alan Kay

Oh, please, an "endorsement"? Your site is racially and politically oriented and has little to do with actual customer service issues (which, supposedly, this site was developed for). It's become a name calling free-for-all where disgruntled, loser former employees come to vent and make inflammatory remarks about customers, each other, and ERAC. Nothing is ever solved here and it seems that the admin really has no life in order to spend so much time on this site. My suggestion? Wipe out all the threads and start new ones and keep it to topic...i.e., customer service issues and none of the other BS. Keeping it the way it is now reflects poorly on the admin and one tends to lump him in with all the other trailer trash who frequent this site.

Plus, if they cannot show that the repairs are required as a result of physical damage or lack of maintanence, then the vehicle should be repaired under warranty. If its a lack of maintainence, they should pay. If its physical damage that they can prove, file a claim. Again, Jim is a great guy, honest and fair. I would recommend not waiting for a bill. Call him and set up a face to face before hand. They tend to get irritated when they have to initiate all contact. If you show that you want to work with them, and are actively seeking a resolution, even its completly in your favor, that curtousey will get you a long way! Good luck! Let us know how it turns out. |

The response I got from my insurance company was "no way." But, I also pay them every month for things like this. Least they could look into the issue a little further. On top of having no oil in the car, they also told me I got water into the engine. I live in Kansas and drove the car on the highway to work and back. I'd have to drive in wheel well deep water to get water in the engine.
