Default Enterprise Plus

I noticed a new "frequent renter" deal on the Enterprise website called "Enterprise Plus".

Anyone know more about it? I know historically ERAC has made it a practice of screwing over its corporate clients in terms of what rates they charge etc..

Likely the same type thing as the corporate accounts. This is their way to screw over non corporate accounts.

You provide ERAC with more information and they give you a number. When you make a reservation using that number it populates everything with your information. All the ERAC person has to do is put in the dates, car and swipe your card. It makes the transaction a little faster.

When you make your reservation online, do you have to enter your customer number before they quote you a price? That's the important question.

So Enterprise can still pull that old scam where they charge frequent renters a higher price than if they'd simply inquired anonymously?

That "old scam" you are referring to is our business rental program. Companies call us and arrange rates for their employees. They can do it 2 ways: offer their employees a discount off our regular rates or they negotiate a "set" rate, which never fluctuates regardless of where they are renting. A lot of companies negotiate this rate and have rental insurance figured into the daily rate. I will agree that depending on the area of the rental or time of year, this rate can be higher. If so, the renter always has the option to go with the lower rate. If this constitutes a "scam" in your eyes, then so be it. I feel that the corporate renter who rents in FL around Christmas and gets the set rate instead of the holiday rates would likely disagree with you.

As for the Enterprise Plus program, it is very similar to Hertz #1 Club or National Emerald Club. It offers expedited rentals and reservations where the renter can come in, have a prewritten contract, give their credit card, then sign and go. There are also periodic specials for our Enterprise Plus members. Signing in on our website in no way changes the rate. Anyone who says otherwise is misinformed or just likes to be pessimistic.

Hopefully, this clears up what Enterprise Plus is and what it isn't. Now let's get back to other topics which never cease to amuse me!!

Admin, what exactly is stopping an Enterprise Plus member from going online to see how much a rental would be with and then without their discount? I'm failing to see the "scam" by Enterprise, how are they with withholding information from a customer? All they need to do is ask.

If they were open and honest with their customers, they'd show what the regular rate is, and what the special "Enterprise Plus" rate is and show the customer the savings. But they won't do this because they know that sometimes the "Enterprise Plus" rate is actually going to be higher than the public rate.

Sure, you can log in as an Enterprise Plus customer, get the rate, then close your browser (maybe also delete your cookies), and try again without logging in, and then comparing the rates.

Everywhere else in the world, using a discount code either lowers or maintains the public rate. It's a scam when it might actually raise your rate. A customer shouldn't have to ask "Am I be overcharged because I'm a regular customer, and would I get a better rate if you ignored my reputation as a good customer?" with every transaction.

Give it up, Admin. Let's see what you've achieved vs. what you have to show for it, shall we? Here goes:

1) Thousands of dollars spent to produce and sent out postcards.

2) Thousands of hours lost to maitaining and monitoring this site.

3) The embarrasment of having your name tossed in shit for over two years on your own site!

4) Wasting tax payer's money for frivolous lawsuits.

5) Wasting your money on lawsuits and attorneys.

And here's what you've achieved: Nothing, zero, ziltch, zip, nada, etc...

ERAC still churns through employees. ERAC is still rips of customers. And the company has still dishonored countless goddamned reservations.

Looks like Failing Enterprise isn't doing it's job....

What is your take Admin? Do you think this site is a powerful change agent? If yes, then how do you plan on raising the number of visitors to your message board?
