Enjoy yourself, gsremn out for good.
I am going to refrain from bashing on the butchering of the English language that you comitted, oh, whoops, I guess I just did. The problem here is that you quickly blamed Erac as if the whole thing was their fault. Perhaps you left the camera somewhere else, perhaps it is hidden in one of your bags, or maybe you lost it, who knows. The fact you lost it and think it was in the trunk, which Erac said they did not find it, and you immediately start calling them thieves, is just wrong. Perhaps someone from Erac did steal it, perhaps it rolled into some crevice and they did not see it, perhaps aliens took it... YOU NEED TO OWN UP TO THE FACT YOU MESSED UP AND STOP BLAMING OTHERS FOR YOUR ACTIONS!!!

And you need to own up to the fact that many Enterprise employees, instead of looking for an opportunity to delight the customer instead look for an opportunity to bash the customer, justifying it by pointing out a small, common, mistake.

You definitely shouldn't be in retail.

Admin, it is obvious you never worked retail in your life. It is a beast and you get to deal with all types of people. The problem is that people do not face up to what is their own fault and quickly blame others for their actions. Deal with this enough and yeah, it gets to you. After 7+ years at Erac you get to know the different kinds of people out there. The nice ones, the mean ones, the it's everybody else's fault but my own ones, the complacent ones, etc. I could write a book about this. After a while I stopped letting it get to me and just realized that some people are the way they are and that they have to live with themselves for the rest of their lives.
I would say that it is definitely not a hatred of customers. If it was, someone would have surely been killed by now and I have never heard of any Erac employees taking it to that extreme.

Thank god I am not in retail. Let's go back to the facts. The customer supposedly left the camera in the car, and called in about it 45-50 minutes after he returned the car. Knowing what you know about Erac, the chance of that car still being on the lot is slim to none. Knowing what I know having worked at Erac, the trunk probably never got checked when it was "cleaned" and it got re-rented with the camera still in the trunk. Maybe when the car returns, it might still be there. Now, if the camera was there in the first place, then yes, Erac should have found it if they had checked the trunk and if it was visible as it could have fallen into some crevice or whatever. It still comes back to the customer who needs to own up to the fact that he messed up and is to blame for leaving the camera in the trunk in the first place, if he did indeed leave it in the trunk.

Actually, I've worked extensively in retail, and was pretty successful at it.

I think the culture at Enterprise is warped because of the whole low-balling/rug merchant/upselling business. Since Enterprise employees often are pulling scams on their customers, I suspect they tend to invite similar behavior back from their customers.

But if someone leaves a camera in the trunk and you see this as an opportunity to mock them and bash them, then you're definitely not the right kind of person to be working in retail.

Why is the emphasis so strongly on finding blame here? Why keep shouting "it's the customer's own fault", when this is obvious? Why isn't the focus on just getting the camera back?

Why keep shouting "Enterprise sucks," when this is obvious? Why not just go rent somewhere else or if you are an employee, quit?
The customer came on here and posted assigning blame to Erac and calling them thieves. How is that going to help him get the camera back?
Here is a suggestion to help the customer:
Call the branch and ask them if the car is currently on rent. If it is, ask them to please put a note on the contract to check the trunk of the car when it returns. Also, ask them if they can call the current renter and have them check the trunk. Be nice about it and they will hopefully help you out.
If the car is not on rent, ask them to please thoroughly check the trunk for the camera. Again, be nice and you will likely get a good result.
If neither of these turn up the camera, then ask to speak with the manager and discuss this further, but be polite.
The minute you turn hostile or threatening in any way, you will lose your chance. Be a nice and kind human.
Then, have a good night.

Great, great point. But alas, we all know ????? does not understand logic (or exponential growth for that matter).

Ya know, this is at least the 2nd time I've seen you say that you've worked in retail, and true to your ego, you've proclaimed that you were successful at it. However, everytime a customer comes on this site and cries foul, you run to defend them with very little details offered. There are so many unknowns in this story of the missing camera that no one can make an accurate ascertation of who is at fault. I've seen a similar situation actually involving a missing camera left in a car, and guess what, the customer actually left the camera elsewhere and automatically blamed enterprise. Customers aren't always right. And if you worked for a significant time in retail, success or not, you would know this. Perhaps that is another thing you are full of shit on?

Admin, you remind me of Bobby Bouche's mom in The Waterboy. "That Enterprise is the devil!!" What a laugh you provide.

Yeah. I'm sure the fact it was "documented" here will do shit. Keep dreaming the Dream.

Hey Admin, have you talked with that lawyer in Group 57? Maybe you two can team up and get the camera back. This guy needs to stop wasting time telling the story on this site and more time asking questions at the branch.
