You're right. They should crawl under the vehicle and inspect every little part and detail every time its rented. That's what all of the other car rental companies do, right??? If their car breaks down, it is clearly their fault. So, why was your own car broken down again?

I went 25 in reverse and slammed it into drive, something we did all the time to rentals in the 90s ford exploders you could rent...that doesnt work on these newer cars apparently. It just went into neutral and waited until you stopped and then it would engage.

Also you can leave the e-brake on the whole trip. We did that. It was annoying seeing the light and the dinging, but just turn up the radio a notch.

We ran the car at 4000rpm in neutral (limited at that) until it ran out of gas. The tank had 50% in it before this. We called it the "reliability test" of the ecotec motor. lol.

Congratulations! If you are this talented, imagine how much you would be making at a company that actually gave a shit about you. "You get what you put in." You wanna know how many times I heard this from upper management? You are a typical 6 month employee. They always lead in stats. Know why? Because anyone who has worked there longer than that realizes that you DON'T get what you put in. Enterprise does not practice what they preach, young grasshopper. I spent 2.5 yrs there and was just like you. I was always at the top in everything. IT DOESN'T MATTER! Until you realize that you are falling victim to the enterprise corporate rhetoric, you will continue to bust your ass and receive the same, compensation-wise, as the 3 year MT that does absolutely nothing. You graduated from college....and still wash/clean cars in your profession!!!! It took me too long of saying that to myself before I got out. And before you say, "You suck because you were an MT for 2.5 years." I was a branch manager. The person who is a pussy is you because you took the first thing that came along while you were searching for a job. I did the same thing and am regretful because of it. It was a pussy move and Enterprise preys on people like you. Enterprise will suck the life out of you and you will not have anything to show for it.

Do you want to wait at least 5 years before you become an Area Manager? That's what you have to ask yourself. If you want to sit there and believe what they "pitch" to you about the job, go right ahead. I have no motivation to lie to you. I'm trying to help you. Go on some other discussion boards and see what they say about Enterprise's "Management Trainee Program." It might open your eyes. Try craigslist.org in their job forum and search for erac, enterprise, etc.

You do realize that you have a contract with your name and information on it. One the car ceases to function, any mechanic will deduce the action, and ERAC will initiate legal proceedings.

You will then be the proud owner of a new car with no working engine, and bills for attorney's fees.

Note: I work for Enterprise. I work in their corporate office IT division. I won't declare that what some have said on this site is right/wrong, as I have absolutely nothing to do with day to day rentals. But destroying a car will not break the Taylors. Destroying a thousand won't break them. You will simply pass operating costs on to other consumers, in the forms of higher fees and rates.

Also, you should understand that walk-in/airport rentals are not ERAC's primary business, and never will be. Auto-shops and insurance temporaries make 80% of the business. I would suggest that the people writing discussing the best way to vandalize cars really consider these things. And just a helpful note, many ISP's, under the proper supoenas, will relinguish your personal information to ERAC's attorneys. While the site operator functions within proper, ethical first amendment boundaries, many posters do not.

It only takes 2 hours to fuck a car up after pouring sugar into the tank?

I used to work in LC so I know what we could pursue on or not. ERAC cannot pursue on many things becuase of a law suit that happened a couple years ago. Now things have to be collision related. ERAC cannot pursue on diesel, acts of God, and can only pusue up to $500.00 in vandalism, the rest they eat. You guys have many great ideas on how to get back at ERAC! I love it! I am going to rent a car this weekend!
Great info here. Can you elaborate more on the $500 limit in CA? I am an ERAC customer/victim. While parked at shopping center, returned to car and had minor damage to the hood. Looked like a SUV with a trailer hitch backed into the hood in the parking lot.

Returned vehicle and explained damage and what occured. There was no accident. Was asked to sign CC authorization for $500. Signed and left. Never heard anything from ERAC and never charged the CC.

Now I have a collection account on credit reports for $1500? Not sure who it is for, never had a collection and all my accounts are at zero balance. FICO scores were 740 ish before this collection. I suspect this is from ERAC. The collection agency has not responded to my Debt Validation letter and they have violated several sections of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) so I have them on several violations that will cost them $1K each.

I am not that interested in suing this idiot collector at the moment, just want to find out who the collection is for and get the issue resolved. If it is ERAC I will pay them the $500 if it is legit, but $1500?

Like I stated the collector has never responded with validation of this debt so I don't even know who it is for, but that is how I found this website becasue on only one of my credit reports the Collection Agency lists as the original creditor: ERACCARSON and I had no idea who the hell that was! This website came up under ERAC, so here I am and the rental is really the only plausable explanation for this collection. Any help or suggestions in dealing with ERAC would be great. Are there numbers somewhere for loss control? Thanks!

Call the branch you rented from and get the LC number. They'll give it to you...
