Give me a fucking break! Has everyone looked at the "jewel" of a car that this son-of-a-bitch owns? The interior looks as if it was involved in a back alley abortion! And it also appears as though the photos were taken outside of a repair shop. <Go figure>
Toolfins - (my 2 cents) - Realize that the "good deal" that you have been so fortunate to receive is causing other hard-working Americans to struggle, and possibly go without. I'm not suggesting that you should pay the most expensive rate or price for every item that you purchase (or in your case, RENT), but be aware of the possible result of your actions.

I'm just a willing buyer accepting the offer of a willing seller. You should whine and moan that these people who use the force of government to take things from an unwilling giver (e.g. taxpayer). You should complain about recipients of Section 8 housing, Food Stamps, free health care, etc.

I have to agree with this. If a supplier is willing to drop his prices I don't know of too many who would say, "No No that is way to low". Our focus should be on the able bodied persons who ride welfare and cause us to pay more in taxes. This comment does not include those who can not work only those that are too lazy.

I DO NOT BLAME A CUSTOMER FOR TRYING TO GET ALL HIS RENTAL CARS EVEN FREE IF HE CAN,THE COMPANY SETS THE PRICES AND IF THEY ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO HAVE PRICES SO LOW THEY WILL LOSE PROFITS THEN THATS THEIR FAUGHT NOT THE CUSTOMERS.CONGRATULATIONS TO ANYONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO GET THE BEST DEALS AND CHEAPEST FROM THE RICH RENTAL COMPIES ESPECIALLY ENTERPRISE.

You ROCK, tailfins! I think I'm gonna have to consider doing this. My car broke down and my last bill for a rental was $511! This was a two-week and two-day rental but I'm not mad @ Enterprise because had I maintained my car well or started looking for a car earlier when it started having problems, it would not have come to this. However, this is really getting ridiculous. The cost is high and it's getting colder. I can either start taking the bus again, or look for more cost effective ways to rent a car. Thank you for the tip, and I might be emailing or PM'ing you to figure out how to make this work! I would love a cost-effective monthly rental. It would be great until I get this thing figured out.

As for majority of the posts on this thread, WTH, are you kidding me?!? Enterprise doesn't charge less when they can charge more ...I just spent $113 on a one-day Toyota Corolla rental from the Atlanta airport!... why should we pay more when we can pay less? Am I looking to get even? Probably. Even out my bank account, that is. With all the money I've spent, Enterprise has got enough and I think I'm (over)due for a break!

This isn't necessarily about stupidity, either. Most specials will only run for a short amount of time but still it gets the word out about those companies. Most people will not have time to consistently chase a lower rate, but I bet tailfin tells all his friends how great Enterprise is and has pretty much done it again here. Sometimes lowering your rates gives a better PR in the long run and not necessarily everyone would take advantage of it, anyway. Special prices can still be cost effective.

As for my excitement... *sigh* It's gonna have to be short-lived. The mandatory under-age driver fee alone is more than the rate tailfin shared!

Tailfin, any chance you can send me that script and let me know how to run it? That'd be awesome!

I am a former ERAC employee and hated it and customers like Tailfin so much(and yes we remember customers like you even if it is only for 15 minutes a month). But, you can't be mad at a customer for working the system and getting the best deal he can get. To all you people complaining about how cheap he is, what would you rather pay 74/week or 274/week? I think we all know the answer. The guy sucks and is that annoying customer, but we are all looking for the best deal.

Default Yes - Failure to Honour Reservation

I travel frequently in the US and avoid Enterprise like the plague because of my poor experiences in the US and Canada

We booked a mini-VAN for our vacation. We were told the car would be ready Saturday afternoon - went to pick it up - suprise - they have rented all the mini-vans. This is the start of the long weekend I phone a dozen companies and there could not arrange a replacement. Sunday we want on vacation with 4 kids and two adults on our camping gear in our Mazda M5. They already had all my info and VISA because I had been renting a car from them for two months and was returning the car for the mini-van. After having dropped a few thousand $ - I expected better customer service but don't know why.

When travelling in the US - I always book with Alamo (good service so far)
In Canada I always book with Budget but avoid Discount Car Rental
