Default Is Enterprise any worse?

I think the problems you people are having with Enterprise are just a sign of the times. I suspect other rental companies are no better. There are all kinds of "sucks" sites out there such as PayPal, Allstate, Ebay, etc. I'm a long time Enterprise customer because I have learned how to "work" their system. I am currently in a 2006 Impala for $74 per WEEK. My whole posture says "cheapskate" and "small claims". Enterprise has never messed with me, I spend 30 minutes holding up the Enterprise employee on the pre-rental inspection. I take photos. With Enterprise, it pays to present yourself as a pain in the butt from the get go! I appreciate your site, it gives me things to be on the lookout for!

Have you ever considered a course in how to write a sentence? You must be a middle school dropout that is jealous because you don't qualify to rent a car!

Look at compacts in Tampa, Aug 7 - 14, $94 per week on Enterprise.com and this isn't even a good week. Writing a good VBScript will allow you to automate entries into Enterprise's website and extract good rates. If you are already in a car, you can lower the rate if ask for a new contract when rates drop on the website. The pictures should be taken with an Enterprise employee in the background. I EXPECT a problem and I'm ready. If you were REALLY an employee of Enterprise, you wouldn't call a regular customer a "dork". I may be a careful customer, but nonetheless a regular customer.

One, why do you rent so often. Two, if you constantly called my office to get a lower rate, I would tell you come in, we'll close this contract. You'll get your $300 back in 3-5 days. I will need to rewrite this contract, and hold an another addtl. $300, because deposits cannot carry over. If you had a free upgrade on the first one, I'd be sure to hold the Aveo for you for your new reservation. Trst me, I'm a great manager, and I get paid a boatload, but I'm VERY spiteful to cheapskates like yourself. It's a game, if you get something extra for free, I lose. If you get your Aveo/Hyundai Accent, or pay an upgrade for something better, then I win.

The original thread starter is one of the main reasons I left ERAC. You can spot these folks a mile away. What I would done with you, is simply raise the rate every time you call. If you wanted to drive the extra 20 minutes to another branch. Great. I dealt with losers like you once, and once only. You call yourself a regular customer, but you only create headaches. DO you have any idea how much that branch hates you. Next time you are in the office just know they can't wait for you to leave, and mock you as soon as you leave.

I think you should be aware that you are a customer who is probably creating a loss for the rental company. At what amounts to $10.57 per day, if you do not purchase additional services, it is a waste of time to rent to you. I don't have any idea what ERAC's cost per day would be for an Impala, and actually, they wouldn't really know until the unit is sold. Their holding cost may be less than that, but when you throw in all other per rental expenses(insurance, accounting, personell, leases, supplies, etc.), I am guessing your specific rentals create a loss, or if nothing else, lost opportunity for the branch to put that unit out at a higher rate to someone else. If you are getting such a good rate, good for you. I would just be careful, which you seem to be. Someone at that branch is eventually going to tire of the price you get, and will try to pin some charges to you for which you may not be responsible. I think these posters are correct when they tell you that the branch personnel harbor some animosity toward you.

He's not only causing the company to lose money, but the BM and assistants end up having to lose $ out of their comission checks so that a douchebag like him can get a car for cheap. Its so fucking annoying that people like him think they're entitled to a "good" (cheap) deal. They're not entitled to shit, and in this world you can't get something for nothing in the rental business or any other business. He's just another scummy customer who thinks he should get everything for free, he's not just hurting enterprise - he's taking money away from the employees and their families.

You're just flat WRONG. Managers are happy to rent to me. I am careful to keep the oil changed (Enterprise credits the price of the oil change on my bill) and treat the car as my own. Sometimes I have to return a car for a major holiday, but I get a car back at the same rate immediately after. Another thing that is necessary to make long term rentals a good deal and avoid LDW is to buy "non-owned" vehicle coverage on an "insurance donor" vehicle, which in my case is my 1959 Chevrolet. Thanks to Enterprise, I keep my 1959 Chevy the jewel it's meant to be PLUS qualify for "parade and show" (very low milage) insurance rates which are very cheap. RENTING A CAR WITHOUT AN INSURANCE DONOR VEHICLE (running or not) is a waste of money.
