The attitude some people have expressed here is just horrible. Look, it isn't ERACs fault that someone left their personal belongings in the vehicle. Employees don't alway catch everything. Our car preps aren't the most savory of characters and sometimes they steal stuff. Maybe the last person that rented it took it? But blaming it on the manager isn't right either. All the BM can do is ask. The BM can't dictate a search of everyone. The most likely scenario is that the customer that rented the vehicle after you took the items. That's the truth. When I worked at ERAC, none of the people at my branch would have taken a customers personal stuff. They would have put it in the lost and found. Our renters however, well, that's another story. But calling the renter stupid or making fun of him is just wrong. My guess is the people that posted some of those comments got fired from ERAC, and probably will have difficulty finding employment anywhere. Who would want to hire a snake in the grass?

I once had a customer that was like the original poster. They said they left a gold necklace in the car. I was the manager at the time and we still had the car in the lot. Both the customer and myself looked in the car and couldn't find it. I even cracked open the shop vac to double check to make sure it wasn't sucked in. I spent close to an hour with this woman and we couldn't find her necklace. She then asked for the Regional Rental Manager, expecting that would help. She reamed him out saying that it was our fault she lost her necklace. She said it was a gift from her grandmother and that we offended her family. It just got out of control. Finally, after she gets off the phone with the RRM it's now my turn for the verbal lashing. After about 10 minutes, her cell phone goes off and it's her mother on the phone. She had left the necklace at her mother's house. Did I get an apology? Of course not!!!! Please be responsible for your personal items. I don't work for ERAC anymore, but when I rent I make sure I take everything out. If I leave anything in the car.......IT'S MY FAULT!!! Take some accountability for your own actions and don't be so quick to blame others!

In My 8 months at Rent-A-Fag I have acquired a set of Nike golf irons ( most likely the gentlemen was on a trip he was not supposed to be on therefore he could not claim them or his wife would castrate him), A nice sony pda(sold it) and last but not least a nice dv video camera (kept it) I consider these items my little bonuses and if you do not have the responsibility to keep track of your belongings you do not deserve them. It is sad that a company has warped my mind about the general public. Not once have I hid these from customers they sat by my desk for 30 days and after that they up and vanished like a fart in the wind. Karma is ohhh so good.

Great example of ERACs "customer service". Andy Taylor would be pleased.
