Re: Keys lost, many questions. what i find particularly funny about this site is that everyone is so quick to quick to lump erac into one giant corporate bubble as opposed to several independently run businesses. If one of them is not treating your right, go to another one or go rent with another company. as far as the original poster, how did you get lost in the car, lose the keys and then forgot where you left the car. I mean i can understand if you just wrecked the car and then lost the keys but how do you not remember where you left a car that isn't yours. either way, you know you are responsible for the damage and you know the damage that you did, you also voided your coverage when you lost the keys, contact the headquarters and try to get any info you can before this thing gets out of hand. first, why are you getting sued as opposed to just having to file a claim with your insurance. second, if you don't have any insurance, why weren't you just sent a bill before getting sued, third, contact the shop and get the estimate for yourself. I currently work for erac and know many people in loss control and over in my region, you get a bill and the option to either pay it yourself or file a claim with your insurance and if you don't have any insurance and can't pay, you get sent to collections so again, how did you end up getting sued. |
