Default Enterprise Car Sales

I just wanted to share my experience of buying a car from Enterprise. I put a deposit on my car on a Thursday and was going away for the weekend. I was told the car and the paperwork would be ready the following Monday. I get a call on Monday and was told the car wasnt ready yet and that they wanted to ensure the car was perfect when I recieved it. Tuesday rolls around (the last day of the month) and they called and said the car would not be ready...again. I was then told the car would be ready Wednesday morning. Through this ordeal my ERAC salesman was great! He told me that if the car wasnt ready by Wednesday at noon that he would personally deliver it to my work place. Well noon rolled around and guess what, my car wasnt ready.....third time! He ended up delivering the car to me at 4:30 PM! What in the world takes 5 days to get the car ready for delivery? Here is the kicker. I just got pulled over because my whole driver side rear brake/tail light was out? You think that with 5 days worth of time they would at least ensure that everything works. My next letter will be to Andy Taylor and Pam Nicholson!!! Buyer Beware when dealing with Enterprise!!!

Default Suggestion

Simply because of the mysterious 5 days (and the head light), I would take it to a mechanic and have them go through the car. Are you sure this is the same car as the week earlier?

Did you see the car before the deal was made, or did they just tell yout hey had a [insert color here] [insert car class here] with [insert mileage here]? The reason I ask is, I have seen them sell cars they have never seen. They then have to scramble to get the car ready for sale. A light is an easy fix though so if the rest of the car meets your expectations I would just have them fix that and enjoy.

Default car sale

Unfortunately this is all too common in car sales. A lot of overpromise and underdeliver. As an account executive I knew the best person to be close to was the group inventory manager. This person is responsible for all the detailing, certification, and final check of all the vehicles. We routinely would take orders for vehicles, especially advertised discount vehicles, and have to wait weeks to get them all the while telling customers just another day. They are very poor at providing enough inventory to meet demand, it's another tactic to keep cost down. I would certainly have the vehicle appraised by a trusted mechanic, I will say that in my experience the vehicles were in good condition though the mileage was often a little higher than average. My leaving the company was triggered by an event where I promised inventory to a previous buyer which was promised to be delivered to me for his purchase, and I was double crossed because the GCSM thought he might be able to get it sold by another account executive half an hour sooner. This is not how you treat loyal customers or employees. I decided this was not an organization I cared to be a part of long term.

They probably put it back out on rent for a weekend special, to earn some last minute revenue...and then the cash customer didn't bring it back on time so they had to punt and push you off until they could get it back.

Happens all the time.

I believe it, but not in this case. The vehicle was a very old (90day+) unit and car sales really pushes to sell these before they have to cut their losses and wholesale them to another dealership. Because of my GCSM's greed he let the vehicle go to another ae because she had a customer at her desk that wanted it, even though I had a repeat buyer coming with cash to purchase it in about a half hour. He had promised me personally that it would be delivered by 11am, an hour before my appointment with a husband and wife driving approx 2hrs to pick it up. Instead I showed up, no car, nobody wanting to talk to me about it, everyone being evasive and eventually just telling me to live with it. Outcome: Other AE's customers did not qualify for financing (should have determined this before double crossing me) I called my customers and told them not to waste their time so they instead purchased the same vehicle from a new car dealer. I lost a sale and all faith in management and began a job search, ended up leaving two months later.

I'm an ex Erac (gang green) employee and i bought a car from them right before i left. big mistake!!! the original car i was supposed to get was sold right under my nose. i then had to wait another 3 days before another vehicle was brought down from another location that was only 2 hours away. i then had to come back 4 different during the week just to get all of the paperwork processed, my car detailed, and all of the other little bs that should've been handled already. Its been a month and a half and i still don't have my license plates. they just gave me another set of 30 day tags. which reminds me... how often did we just take a marker and change the dates on enterprise vehicles or tell people its ok to drive with expired stickers and tags?? it seems like that is the standard procedure and that somehow enterprise thinks they're above the law. i can't tell you how many times we would roll some shady deals just to keep things moving in the office. i had to place people in cars that hadn't seen an oil change in over 7,000 miles. erac sucks and they suck hard. what if that was my mother or my sister trying to rent a vehicle?? the motto at enterprise is "if there is gas in the tank, rent that bitch." thats why i left enterprise. we are the worst when it comes to values, morals, and ethical business practices. as a black man, i can truly say that i have never seen more rampant discrimination in a business environment in my life. at my office, blacks were automatically assumed to be cash-qualifiers and often given the most beat up piece of you know what sitting on the lot. not every black person is a crack head, drug dealer, or chicken eating grease monkey!!! in some instances, i witnessed some co-workers deliberately try to find a way not to qualify someone even when they fully qualified just because they had a 9.99 special reservation and there was only a lincoln available. to my knowledge, if they have a reservation and they qualify, we should put them in a car right??? so why does enterprise try to make some blacks wait around or tell them that they don't qualify even when they do? also, i was always "magically" assigned to repo cars whenever they turned up in the "hood." I understand what it means to be a token black and i'm convinced that enterprise is no place for the black man. enterprise is a racist good ol' boy company and i hope every last one of andy taylor's ugly ass family members chokes to death on a big black dick.

Enterprise Car Sales "Certification" is a crock of shit too. I remember we use to take our cars to the shadiest places to get our cars "certified". There is a huge difference when a car is certified at a dealership as opposed to Enterprise. Their warranty is longer and it is a real bumper to bumper. Ours is only a Limited Powertrain, then we have to buy an extended warranty. No Thanks, I rather haggle with a dealer on a used "certified" car then buy a car from Enterprise.

Although "certified" used cars at a dealer can be a better deal than E, most of them are wayyyyy overpriced. I had Pilot "certified" used car with 1000 miles listed at 2K over a new one. And NO the dealer wouldnt go down on the price to my customer.

Fellow AE's smile at you in the spirit of comaradarie and then stick the knife deep inside your back.

So much for the emphasis on "teamwork" I thought it might be different than the wolves at the dealership, but its much worse.
