HMM, I would like to know what kind of cars a specific airport branch rents. Maybe I should call that branch? Actually, that might take too much time maybe I should look online at their website instead. No, I can't do that. That makes too much sense. Maybe I'll ask the pissed off ex employees on this website for pissed off ex employees. Why would they be anything but helpful?
On a side note, why the fuck do you care if your icar was a cobalt, focus, or sentra? Is there actually a difference?

OP here.

Wow, you guys are harsh. I feel so sorry for myself now that I've been badmouthed by a bunch of "pissed off ex-employees" on a forum for "pissed of ex-employees" in that forum's own subforum for CUSTOMERS of the chain that once employed a few said "pissed off ex-employees."

I cared whether the car was a Sentra or a Cobalt because I was going to be driving the thing. There are differences between the various makes and models of cars ... yes, even among the Compact and Intermediate cars that are seemingly only acceptable for the most common of us common-folk who have yet to experience the apparent enlightenment that follows being laid off from an Enterprise branch.

I was looking to rent a lower class of car because I am cheap. I am a recent college graduate working my way into a graduate program that unfortunately requires lots of volunteer work experience. As such, I don't have much money to spend when I do manage to go on a vacation, and I'd prefer to spend as little as possible on things such as rental cars. Having said that, I'm too cheap to step up a class or two if the vehicle selection is old or comprised of the worst low-cost cars imaginable.

I asked here before calling the branch in the off-chance that the person answering the phone at the branch in question might have better things to do. In essence, I was trying to make it easier on some of your ex-coworkers by asking a group of people who might have been able to answer the question themselves - that is, people who have rented from the branch in question in the past. I did ask the question in the "Enterprise Rent-A-Car Customers" subforum, after all.

For the record, I ended up reserving a Full-Size at a great weekly rate. The young woman who checked me in was pleasant, courteous, talkative, and extraordinarily helpful. From boarding the Enterprise shuttle to driving off in the rental took around an hour, more than three-quarters of which were spent conversing with the girl at the check-in counter. They were out of Full-Size cars at the time, so they placed me in a brand new Toyota Avalon. The gentleman who handles the return of the car promptly corrected a billing error without question and had me on the shuttle to the airport in less than ten minutes.

I think most of you need to get over yourselves. To the "pissed off ex-employees" and current employees with a bone to pick, find a new job if you're unhappy. If you're a disgruntled customer, perhaps you were genuinely wronged by the company. More than likely, you're just an asshole who got what he/she deserved.

Enterprise employees don't like to talk about which "exact" vehicles are in a particular class, because they don't know what vehicle you'll be getting in most cases until the second you walk through the door. There are so many variables at play, that the last thing they want is for you to "expect" a particular car. And from their past experience, whenever they've accidentally done that, the customer will "only take that car" in which case you're screwed. Because even the ERAC rep themselves may not know when that next exact car is coming in.

To put this in perspective, as a former employee, I was taking a vacation and only wanted a particular car because it was comfortable, great on gas, and at a lower price point (I wanted to maximize my employee discount). Even for me, an ERAC employee at the time, it took 2 hours to track down this specific vehicle on the other side of a major city. This whole business is so hit and miss.
