Hahaha. In my time at ERAC I never dried a car by hand and speed through dryers at car washes because they took to long.

Were you a car prep? If you were your opinion doesn't count.

Well Hell at my branch just like ever pther branch the cars are exposed to the rain, sleet, snow and ice. Hell ERAC will not even pay for a decent place to wash our cars. We had to wash ours in the rain, cold, sleet, snow, and sun. Untill the EPA recently stoped the branch from washing cars on the lot. Know the branch has to go to the local carwash and spend about $3-$4 per car.

Hell when I worked at ERAC who the Hell had time to wash cars, let alone take a lunch break.

Christy you are a dumb ignorant slut. How can you lie like that.

enterprise dries its cars in most markets? Are you kidding me? I bet you cannot even find one enterprise that dries its cars. Unless you mean driving them from the wash bay to the lot really fast so some of the water flies off them. Notice too that in the article one customer gripes about renting a car that had 20,000 miles on it. It is a good thing he doesn't rent from Erac where most cars have about 40-60k on them. Not to mention bald tires, scratched to hell, dented to hell and smoke out like crazy.

Come on, in my 2 years, 5 branches and thousands of cars, I cant remember a single one being dried off. I do remember lots of dirty ones sent out over and over.

I agree that this statement is hilarious. I am sure some do, but most? Hahahaha. Please. I was at a 200 car branch that went 6 months without a car prep. Half the branches I worked at didn't even have a bay to wash the cars.

But I am glad "most markets" have the ability and time to dry the cars! Just like "we'll be there in 10 minutes," "Enterprise is a great place to start a career," and "xyz happened to the car we had for you so it is going to be another 20 minutes." Gotta love it!

Although no longer prepping (now fleet manager), I have done literally thousands of vehicle cleanings over the years for the company I work for. During this time I've been the sole prep for a 100+ vehicle fleet, and with many rentals being one or two days only, this results in a high and constant rate of returns. In addition, I spend a considerable amount of time on the road shuttling customers, retrieving dropped vehicles, etc.....with no one in the wash bay picking up the slack. I had 10-15 minutes TOPS to clean these cars inside and out, often not even that long. Bookings so tight that new customers were already waiting in the office when their reserved vehicles were returned dirty with no gas. Oh, did I mention I was also responsible for fueling them before they went back out?

The point is, these customers have to realize the tremendous amount of stress rental employees are forced to work under, including the prep. While most people take the better part of a Saturday afternoon to clean one vehicle, these same customers expect their rental to look like it's come from a two hour detailing....and have it ready and full of gas before the ink's dry on the contract. And hand drying each one??? You've got to be out of your effing mind.

My favorite thing about customers has to be how much they will complain about a dirty car yet there the scum bags who bring them back looking like shit and don't want to be charged for a detailing fee. At my branch we dry all our luxury cars and also the windows...probably why we have a 96 esqi.
