Default A DEBIT/VISAGIFTCARD IS NOT A CREDIT CARD

we need to bring this one back it brought on some hilarious stories. "No L'Devante your Debit card is not a credit card despite the visa logo on it." "I know it says Visa but it is still not a credit card and you will need to go get your own utility bills and not your baby's momma's sprint bill." "I know 'you be fittin to rent a cadillac,' but I cannot rent it to you until you present a real credit card."

I always liked the customers that would bring in a CC but when I tried a $250.00 auth it would decline. Fair enough, I would try say, $100.00, and still declined. The customer would proudly smile and tell me "oh its maxed right out."
They would continue to argue that they just need to have a credit card, and "it dont matter if its maxed out." Those were fun times.

A little off topic, but one of the more sad, yet fun at the time activites, was charging the overdue renters credit card every week for small amounts because their card was maxed. The sad part was that when they would make the minumum payment, I would charge it and its maxed again.

Customer's like this use to make me want to jump over the counter and strangle them. How dumb are you to think you can use a maxed out CC to rent a car!

Having worked at an office that was in a not so desirable part a major city I got the joy of dealing with these people every day. However, they were not bad a the people who used cash for their rentals. I HATED doing cash qualifications. It seems that the whole idea of having to have bills that were current, with their name and address on them, was way over their heads. I had one lady who I personally had a 3o minute phone conversation on what she was going to need to rent a car with cash. When she came in she brought me 5 bills, and not a single bill was current! Stupid me I should put into ghetto terms of what a current bill is.

If you are trying to collect on some bad debt and a card just keeps declining all you neeed to do is put in an old auth. code and presto it will got through and overdraw their account. You will get a few charge backs doing this but you can also collect on some of those uncollectable items.

P.S. I love to authorize debit cards

You know, it wouldn't be so bad if the people didn't bring attitude as well. I wont be mad at you if your poor, or a complete financial imbecile, but when you add the attitude I go from sympathy to contempt real fast.
