Default What is CDW?

I see everyone talking about CDW and was wondering what it was? By the way, I applied at Enterprise and after searching on the internet for some information about the job stumbled upon this website. I immediately canceled my interview I had scheduled and told them I was no longer interested.

Ah, now this is what I like to hear. Enterprise seems to get a lot of mileage out of telling a wonderful but one-sided story to job applicants. I've been doing a lot of search engine optimization over the past month to rank highly when doing a Google search for these phrases:

Enterprise Rent-A-Car Management Trainee
Enterprise Rent-A-Car Human Resources
Enterprise Rent-A-Car Jobs

My goal is that when people are considering working at Enterprise, they at least have a chance at getting some information not completely handed to them by the company. It looks like we're having some success.

Maybe Enterprise won't make the necessary changes because a customer asks them to. Maybe they'll make them because it's going to get harder to hire new employees after these candidates have a look at an informational site like this one.

To answer your CDW question....

Collision D amage Waiver

CDW covers you incase any damage should occur to the vehicle while you are renting it. Dent, Door Ding, Broken/Chipped glass, Deep Skratches (missing paint).

Basically it is an agreement between you and the rental company that says if they find damage on the car after you bring it back Enterprise forgoes their right to subrogate the damages against you or your insurance comapny.

It has it's pro's and con's......

Let the debate begin!

Thanks for the reply. I happened to find your site while reading on another website where potential employees and current employees were posting. I was about to make an hour drive the next day for an interview. It saved me a big headache it looks like. I am sure it has deterred a lot of people from working at Enterprise. I come here quite often now just to read the posts. They are very entertaining. If it is really as bad as people say it is on here then I am surprised they have not been investigated or sued.

That brings up an interesting point . . .

Based upon all the information, complaints and testimonials on this website from employees and customers alike, it seems that a few class action suits may be warranted. That might be a very interesting thing to pursue with one of the country's top law firms.

Legal action might be the only way to force ERAC into adopting fair practices for both employees and customers. Right now, ERAC is adopting some pretty hilarious countermeasures. One is burying its head in the sand like the proverbial ostrich, and the other is putting blinders on the horse so employees cannot access FailingEnterprise.com from ERAC offices. In other words, ERAC has made it quite clear that it is not going to change on its own.

If the tobacco industry can be brought down, so can ERAC.

First of all, the last time I checked tobacco hasn't been outlawed yet.
Secondly, you should look up how many times ERAC has been sued-thousands. From ex employees to customers, erac has been very good at countering these suits and keeping them out of the public eye. But believe me, erac's lawyers & reps have to go to court on a monthly basis to fight these law suits. Most stem from sexual relations to damage on vehicles, but erac is like Norm from Cheers when they go to court...everybody knows their name.

It's not like suits don't happen. I personally went to court on three different cases where renters sued, and I knew of at least 3 employee suits.

E is very very careful and quiet when it comes to employment cases. They are more apt to hand out a severance package that comes with a waiver of legal action rather than see something go to court- most of these type of things are illegal, but many people are so scared by the company, they think they've signed their rights away and they never sue.

Here's an example of how this works: a local insurance agent's daughter worked for ERAC as an MT- worked her way up to Assistant, was next in line for a BRM job. (Mostly on Daddy's reputation as a bigwig agent- he was *thisclose* to the GM/RVP) and she was a total slacker. Anyway, one day, it's found that she and the ARM are "marketing" together from a variety of hotel rooms in the area...if you get my drift. ARM doesn't want to lose his wife, and Miss Assistant threatens to blackmail the ARM, and threatens to sue for sexual harrassment (claiming that she had to "market" with the ARM to get promoted.) Now, who's Daddy going to believe?

So Daddy Bigwig Agent, Daddy's attorney, and GM/RVP go play a round of golf, one fine summer day.

Next thing you know, Miss Assistant quits the company (voluntarily) because she's decided to "go back to school" and moves to the southwest.

ARM gets transferred to a different area and about six months later gets "promoted" to another group.

A mole in the HR department found the termination paperwork, and it included a severance package of full free health/dental for 2 years, a salary continuance for a full year, and a lump sum settlement for $250,000. And a promise not to sue.

I wonder how that money was expensed out...I think that was the year that we got a new Admin office- so of course, Admin overhead would be higher...
