| a bunch of morons with BAs and shitty grade point avgs? if that is the case, when will the bottom drop out? no company can coast forever with a bunch of dumbasses wheeling the ship. and no company that i know of has management employees who barely have a college degree. think about it, most companies have some serious big brains behind them...i never bought that erac only hired from within. ERAC has gotta have some high level MBA types behind the scenes, i think the company would falter if it had to completely hire from within. and surely these MBA types working for ERAC never went thru the embarrassing MT program |

| I think that at an entry level, no one would say an MBA is necessary at all. As people gain experience with rental and how to read their numbers, they learn how to manage those numbers better. Eventually, the best of the best are getting the GRM/GM positions. Granted, they don't have MBAs but I think they certainly at least know the ERAC business very well and hopefully their skills can be generic enough to transfer to other industries if they want to change jobs. |

ERAC is going to have even more trouble retaining employees over the next 10-20 years than they do right now. That is because almost all of the baby boomers are going to retire within the next few years and it is going to be a virtual smorgasbord for those right out of college. They are not going to put up with a crappy job like renting cars when there are so many other sweet jobs available. Most of the people that have been at ERAC long term are Gen-Xer's who graduated from college when the job market really sucked and just ended up settling. It is going t be an entirely different scenario in the forseeable future. In fact, it already seems to be hitting them hard, as I hear the Gen-Y kids are in much better positions and retention is even worse now than it was in the mid to late 90's. |

| What do you really think an MBA is for? The most useful purpose is to have on your resume to get an interview. Quote:

| It's renting cars people. How much fucking brain power does that take? |

the markeeting, finaincial, admin types, not rental flunkies no way those people rose thru the ranks...a company like erac, you would think, would have to have some high powered brains pulling the strings, not some asshole with a liberal arts degree from college u |
