It was white, and had several severe scrapes, some of which we later learned were covered in White-Out (it ran after a thiunderstorm). It smelled of marijuana, body odor, and prosciuto ham. I often likened it to the fragarant aroma of a Turkish Bathhouse. It came back repeatedly on the "donut", was OXed countlessly but for some reason never shopped. And then, one day, the graceful hand of god swooped down and made one of our renters drive it drunk on a freeway and smash the bejeezus out if it. The renter was prefectly okay, not even a hospital stay, but the car was totalled. LC had some pictures, it was about half of its normal height, and was gone from the B-pillar rearward.
Now this is a funny post! Well-written and a good story.

I don't think the Fleet Demon is a car... I think it's a smell. The Stink is a living thing that inhabits a car and remains there until there's an exorcism or the car is sold... and it moves to another car to fester. No amount of Febreeze can tame it. No amount of pine-trees dangling from the mirror will scare it away.

It is pure evil. (And it smells like a bag of wet cats)!

THE WORST, AND ABSOLUTE WORST CAR TO EVER RENT SOMEONE WAS THE SATURN SL2--
This vehicle has to be one of the most poorly made cars!
When I worked @ ERAC, I would have rather given my customers a Chevy Metro, or Kia Rio, or a Ford Escort with 55,000 miles.
The Saturns were so low to the ground, that the driver & passengers probably sat no more than 6"inches from the ground, they all smelled with that mysterious funk, and customers hated them. Hands down, the worst fleet car.
However, they did come in handy for a GM Warranty deal.

Yes sir, I know your 2005 GMC Yukon DEnali is in the shop, its under warranty and Chevy is paying it all for you, we got you this nice 2001 Saturn SL2 to drive around until your car gets fixed. Cha-Ching!!!

Anyone else ever notice how any of the Ford Escorts would go 0-60 in about 2 seconds in reverse? It was always funny to me.

Check out branch 3211, it's in beverly hills. They have all sorts of benz's, bmw's, and I've even seen a Caddy XLR and the Chevy SST on thier books. It's also fun to check the unit history, then go into closed tix and see the rates they are getting.

3211 or the one in Hollywood had a red 03 Corvette last year. Read the OX/DX reports on that were crazy. One DX report had it being rented to a movie studio who used it to shoot a scene where the apparently decided to shred the back tires doing burnouts. Brought it back with bald tires, and suprise, they got DX'd for it. Another one was something like it had been used in a stunt and the hood was very badly damaged, but the studio paid to have another hood put on it before they returned the car.

That same office and some around it can be seen to rent some 350Z's, BMW 7-series and up, high end Merc's, H2's, and one also had a Cadillac XLR. That would be a sweet ride to rent. Wonder what kinda rate they get for it?
