God, how true is that. Whenever I did the LC section of New Hire Training, I always, always told the kids that we knew stuff went on, we'd all been in rental, and we knew that all we could do was give them the training and hope they made good judgments. The very best advice I always gave my newbies was this: If you aren't comfortable with the deal, don't put your name on it. Pass it off to the assistant or BRM and don't worry about your package sales. Another one will come along. In other words, pass the buck UP because when the fit hits the shan and the cash Caddy gets totalled, the name on the contract is who gets to answer for the deal. Renter and employee alike. |

The bitch who rented it had a mental problem. Apparently there was a missing persons report filed for her and she was eventually found a couple days later a few states away. We had to eat about 1,500 on the rental not to mention damages to the vehicle and getting it back. |

| The worst deal I've ever rolled was a Leased Fleet Car. It was dropped at our office at a time where NO ONE had cars for about 2-3 weeks. I'm tlaking weekend we were sitting 95+% occupancy. I had two people left and one woman absolutely could not go the night and the enxt day without a car. I wrote an incomplete contract and rented her the Fleet Ford Focus that was dropped at our lot. Less than 24 hours later I had her switched into a real car that Enterprise actually owned. I told my manager to leave and I'd find a solution, that way he had nothing to do with it if the deal shat on us...I was only a Trainee and figured I could get off with a warning. Ah, those were the days. |

| I think we rolled another group's car one time. It dropped from out of state and some MT rented it out. They did a unit pend and wrote the unit number onm the ticket so they had no idea and didn'r realize the unit number was different. We found out because they came to us and asked why the computer didn't recognize the unit number when they were trying to type it in after the guy had left. I think we were able to call the renter back and switch out. Not a big deal, but if the car had been wrecked, it would have surely turned into one. |

As always, I have only gotten bullshit answers from anyone I've asked at ERAC. |
