My branch rolled that shadiest of deals. After my week of training I went through a period of untraining, where everything I had learned, my BR and AM undid. We would rent to almost anyone who walked through the door. Especially on Fridays if we did not get rid of enough weekend specials, pretty much anyone with $5 bucks in their pocket and and ID was qualified. Hence, my BR and AM would do anything to sit tight!

Oh yeah this is from Group 07, thats Central Florida, the state that many of you rag on in many threads that I have seen. Remember those of you who come here and make complete asses of yourselves at our BR meeting every year shouldn't throw stones.

Don't worry. The Area/Group Manager are aware. They will high five the Branch Manager and team for exceptional IPC and PKG.... until there is a bad DX and Loss Control starts the underwriting investigation. Then, the GM or Controller will call the Group Manager, the Group Manager calls the Area Manager, the Area Manager chews out the Branch Manager and might write them up.

Part of the deal. Roll the shady deals early and often. Remember, upper Mgt only cares when it causes problems.

We called drug dealers heavy hitters. At my first branch we had two drug dealers as customers. One always paid cash and the first time I delt with him I was explaining what I needed to take cash and my manager stepped in and handled the deal. She then told me how to handle that customer again. He got a full sized car each week, sometimes he would come back in two days and get another. I think my manager was taking bribes from him....

I remember quiet often my BR getting chewed for the shady deals that didn't pan out. What upset me is that if I was the one who rolled it, the BR would blame me as if this was not a common practice at our branch. Then we had to be careful for a while until the dust settled. Such inconsistency, I never knew if I was comming or going. I soon learned this is a company wide practice.
