I worked At Hertz Orlando for twelve years and was a member of the Teamsters union. All I did was clean cars and made pretty good money doing it. I made full-time after 5 months and started receiving benefits, medical, vacation ect. When I moved and had to quit Hertz after 12 years I had accumulated 4 weeks vacation per year, 7 sick days per year, 5 floating holidays per year. Any sick time you had left over at the end of the year you were paid time and a half. If you were scheduled to work on a major holiday you were paid double time and a half. If you were off, you were paid for that day. Overtime was abundant and it was called by senority. You could easily make more than a station manager if you wanted to do the overtime. Also the job was alot more secure than being a manager. The managers had the life span of a fly at Hertz. They either got fired for something or other or were transfered to Hertz Siberia. They did not last long.
As far as me, I do have other skills besides washing cars. I was a Veterinary Technician for 13 years (which requires a few brain cells), but I made more money getting cars turned around for rental than by doing that. The Teamsters did O.K. by me. Check it out. ( Teamsters Local 385 )

Seriously, just quit. It's not worth the time or effort.

ERAC employees can form a union. Penske "MT's" in certain areas (Northeast)are union members with the Teamsters.

Most doofs that work at Enterprise are unskilled recent College Grads. Most think they are better than "Commie Unions" and dream of being upper management. They simply don't get the fact that they are being used and exploited by the company. I'm an unskilled College Grad, I spent 5 years at Erac and moved on to a "sales" position with another company. Anybody can do sales, Pharma companies like the ERAC people because they think they are better than your average person because of their "Marketing, Communications or Political Science degree's" In Pharma, you occasionally have a Sales Manager that was a biology major. "They usually played Football in College" For the most part its the same BS you hear at ERAC. "Know the Key Decision makers, manage your time effectively, ask an open ended question and listen to the response. In other words, be fake and move the product.

Management in Sales and Retail is a constant revolving door because everyone involved is an Unskilled College Grad. They will never form or join a union because they are expendable and can't take the risk. Corporate America always wins. LOL!!

BTW, I have friends who are Engineers. Ie. Skilled College Grads. They are in Unions, they make a boatload of money and can do whatever they want. In the end my advice would be to get smart and get a proffesional degree and get out of sales and retail altogether. Don't form a Union unless you believe in equality and fair treatment of all workers including illegals.

membership in unions most certainly has citizenship as a requirement, as with a high school diploma or GED

illegals work for cash, no union member gets paid cash for on the clock union work
