He was in his 30's... I guess what goes around, comes around. He was a complete jerk and pressured a lot of good people to quit with his "motivation" tactics. I guess pushing the more experienced managers out to get some of those "hungry" employees in management positions backfired on him. I know a lot of ex and current managers and area managers are happy to see him get it like he gave it. Good luck at your next gig butt munch...

"Here we grow again" is a term that upper management used in the days of rapid growth at Enterprise. When new branches opened in new cities, the job postings would always start with "Here we grow again" as a kind of bragging, pride-evoking add-on. However, it was justified, because the company actually was adding on new territories and markets. In recent times, the moniker still means that a new position has become available, but not generally from a new branch opening. Instead, it almost always means that someone has quit or was fired, thus opening a spot. What is funny is that upper management has not caught on that most employees view the saying as a joke and use the term to make fun of upper management for trying to hide the fact that the opportunities that Enterprise offered a employee in the late 80's & early 90's no longer really exist.

I work in 53ee and worked with Derek as an assistant when he was here. It's interesting to me that everyone says that he did such a shitty job, but morale in the region has steadily gotten worse since he left. Maybe someone could have done a better job as RRM, but at least he was approachable and gave a shit. The only reason anybody at that level gets fired is because all the branches in the region as a whole are sucking it up. There's no way it's the RVP's fault, or the area or branch managers- the ones directly responsible for branch performance- it must have been Derek's fault. My esqi is shitty- it's Derek's fault. I am not capable of selling Damage waiver on a three day thousand dollar deductable deal- we should fire Derek. Our fleet growth is negative 50%- only Derek could be responsible for that. When I was at the airport we had the highest esqi anywhere and nobody gave Derek any credit for that. And don't you people remember all the success we had with the Rocktober and Sellvember challenges? If you hate your job shut up and quit. Have a blessed day.
