I just want to say that i've been with erac for 9 months in socal and i just got promoted to assistant manager. i think the company is awesome and out here in cali they take real good care of us. i just went to lunch with 5 coworkers today and our bill was $280 without tip. erac paid for all of it. i'm now going to make about $45,000 a year and we have lots of fun. Maybe it's different in other places, but in socal it's pretty fucking sweet. This upcoming saturday my area manager is renting out an entire bar with all food, drinks, and surfing on a man made wave included. i think that is pretty fucking cool, so if people out there are still considering working for erac, i can tell you it's not as bad as this site makes it out to be. granted there are plenty of assholes out there and sometimes the job can be very stressful, but in reality, what job isn't?

ERAC is all about the people you work with. I work in one of the best branch's that my group has to offer. Every single one of the guys that works in my branch get along and are pretty good friends outside of the office. When you have a manager who cares about the people working for them, and will go out of their way to make sure you are accomodated, to me, that makes a pleasant work environment. If you have a shitty work environment, you will hate your job more and more, and sadly I believe that is the case for most erac-ers.

Mike used to work for Enterprise and must have learned the trade. Enterprise is better off without him. I have never called in or done anything wrong. The Better Business Bureau will hear about it and so will many others. I will derail anyone from doing business with this company. Hertz is sexist, enforcing a heavy dress code on men and nothing on the women. It exists, but is not enforced. They also play the Enterprise game of promising promotions in "one to two months" and not delivering. They require employees to come out of pocket for expenses (except the room) for a trip to Detroit for two weeks for training and don't pay them back for expenses for 6 weeks. To prevent promotions from occuring too quickly, they slapped everyone with a written test. People successfully passed this, thinking they would then be promoted. Then, without any warning, on the "congratulations" fax, Mike W. said, "Let's hope they do as well on the verbal test." He was too busy opening new stores to learn to run the ones he has. This is not the end of the road for rental car business troubles, but please heed my warning before you leave one rental company that is horrible just to find more of the same.
I think it's really awful that you decided to post this. You didn't even work there for 2 months and you sound really ignorant. HLE in this area has extremely LOW turnover because people actually like their job.

As for what you said about your city manager...I think you are just looking for someone to blame. An again, i can't even begin to respond or defend him because pretty much everything you said sounds like complete bull$#!t.

You said the employees had to come with out of pocket expenses for the trip to Detroit for training, that is false. I got my per diem check before I ever even left for Detroit and was also reimbursed for gas mileage *very well in fact*.

I just think what you posted is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I know exactly who you are, and I have to say...the company is much better off without you. Yuck.

I just found this site. Hertz totally sucks. No recognition for those of us that actually work. Just the BM's and above.
