| I can't believe some of the posts i've read. I've got some questions. Anyways the other day this guy i knew from college told me he workes for enterprise for about a year now and offered me a interview for it. He said i woul d make about 32k a year. I don't see what can be so bad about it. I used to hang out with him and he didnt seem to mind the job and he did it for a year already. Also why are the hours so bad and why is it such a sales job. I mean I thought all u did was rent out cars to people. Where is the sales part and what do u do with all your time there? |

| u never answered what u sell. |

"Sales" is a very loosely used word needed to depict what the average employee has to do to get promoted. Essentially, employees "offer" optional damage waiver/car coverage to every person who rents from them. They must maintain at least a 40% selling average of this waiver to beconsidered to move on to the next level of management. In regards to what they do with their time, employees are expected to honor reservations with cars that aren't there, "market" ERAC to prospective accounts, wash cars (many, many times), pick up customers, answer 10 lines that ring at once, manage to work their accounts receivables, follow up (they are called callbacks) with every customer who has an actively rented car - daily, and occasionally go out to meet a customer to change a tire in the broiling sun, because it's YOUR car, and you need to take care of the problem. These are just some random activities that occur daily. If you'd like a more itemized description, please see the Life in the Day of an Enterprise employee post. And, after all is said and done, and after a 10-12 hour day, you will be expected to attend after hour meetings, "happy hours", and/or training sessions after work. Good times. |

You sell all day, everyday. You are expected to sell people up into better cars (even though there isn't one in the parking lot!!) You will be selling damage waiver, personal accident insurance, and liability coverage. You sell people on the phone that call in into larger cars, DW, etc... You sell you fellow employees on Enterprise. You sell other employees on the fact that you love it there. You sell bodyshops, auto repair shops, and insurance adjusters on Enterprise. It is 100% a high pressure sales job. What do you do with your time? You: Train fellow employees (the formula is 1 employee for every 30 cars) Callbacks/chase multiple deadbeat renters/slam credit cards Answer at least 7 phone lines while trying to wash cars & help customers Stalk deadbeats & try to steal back cars/play debt counselor Deliver/ pick up cars Gas Cars Each branch will wash/vacuum a minimum of 45 cars/ day!! A minimum of 2 customers everyday will actually yell at you or someone you work with prep the office for a group rental manager visit Clean office-trash cans/ toilets/ vacuum Organize oil changes/ vehicle service for a 150 car fleet (a job in and of itself!) Prepare deposits/count down cash box daily pick people up for their rentals take donuts to bodyshops/ service shops marketing--actually out in the field help the old lady that can't figure out how in the fuck to turn on the headlights in her rental--I shit you not!!! change flat tires/bring customers gas/ jumpstart vehicles wherever they might end up dead scrape ice prepare sold cars to be picked up pick up new cars at dealerships install license plates/ e-stickers These are just a few things. There are many, many more things that go on everyday. There is NEVER a dull moment! For $9.25/ hr--save yourself a bunch of time and trouble and look elsewhere..... Good Luck! |

| You talked about happy hour. They can't be that bad of people if they want to spend time with u on happy hour. |

Happy Hour is part of the pact you make with the devil if you want to get promoted. I hated happy hours...I like to drink mind you, just not with people I have already been with for 12 freaking hours of the day. The cult-like atmosphere just did me in. My advice to you oh thread-starter is to speak to others who currently or have previously worked for ERAC. Or you can do the math.....1 Guy who has an positive opinion about ERAC + hundreds if not thousands of negative posts saying DON'T WORK HERE = One confused person whom we are desperatly trying to enlighten. Good luck on your journey my friend. __________________ "Never trust a big butt & a smile"... Bell Biv Devoe |
