Default Unbelievable

My husband has worked for Enterprise for almost 3 years now, and I truly, truly hate the company for a wealth of reasons. Today is just another example.

His area manager approached him today and said "So, you're looking for another job, huh?" to which my husband replied "Uhh, no, I'm happy with my job."

"Well," he continued, "My recruiter says he saw your resume on monster.com."

"My resume has been up there for years, but I don't use the site."

"He said your resume was updated May 16th."

"No," he lied, "Like I said, I'm happy with my job."

"Well, good... Because, you know, if you'd like to look for another job, I can make sure that you have 100% of your time available to do so."

In other words, it's a non-proveable way of saying "I'll fire you". You know Enterprise... They'll just throw out some excuse, that his numbers aren't good enough, blah blah blah. Here's a guy who's working 50 hours a week, bringing home a measly $500 bucks a week to support his family, and he has to deal with this BS.

I had to vent. This isn't the type of experience a person with a BS in Business Administration and three years post-college experience should have to deal with.

I feel your pain. I was there for 6 years and these Area Managers feel like they have a God complex. F them all. Your husband is better off looking for another job because this Area Manager is going to continue to bother your husband until he leaves.

You posted something about your hubbie the other day about not liking ERAC and looking for something else. He had better be careful or he may get that opportunity quicker than he would like. Have him seek out a recruiter because they will look for jobs for him.

There should be an option in Monster to hide your resume and only have it sent out to the people you want to send it out to. That way it is not for public view. I think there is also a option to hide your personal info on there as well so they can't tell it's you.

I have posted MANY a horror story on this same topic.

I was a manager in Group 36 Hawaii for many years and believe me, all groups are the same when it comes to extracting additional revenue from its labor force. THINK ABOUT IT, HAVE EMPLOYEES WORK 54 HOURS AT LESS THAN A 40 HOUR WAGE. WHAT A GREAT CONCEPT!!! NO WONDER WHY ERAC CONTINUES TO GROW 18% A YEAR ON THE BACKS OF THEIR EMPLOYEES.
I have friends still employed at the company and feel terrible for them. Not only because they work those hours but that they are so tired they can't look for another job and they are so broke they live pay check to pay check. All this for earning a college degree. You will learn that ERAC wasn't worth the stress to you financially and to you emotionally. When you do move on you will join the chorus of recovering ERAC employees pleading with others to regain sanity. LUCKY 7

I feel real sorry for you, but your husband should not give a shit. First of all the economy is doing better, and not alot of people are as eager to work for 60 hours a week for shit money as they used to. They eont fire him, he would have to steal from andy taylor at this point to get fired. They need to keep as many people as they can, because just like the website says, this is a failing enterprise.
