Looks like we've got a real bunch of losers posting here tonight, though I'm betting it's just JeanHo making up a bunch of aliases because none of us are agreeing with her/him. It's actually pretty hilarious reading all of these Pro-ERAC posts, these morons have no idea what having a good job is like.

Sorry about your loss... truly. There are right and wrong things coming from every side of this agruement. First... the guy made sure he was checking in. Obviously they told him all was good with him taking off. He probably wasn't getting paid that whole time... once he used up his sick/vac. days they by law don't have to pay and since we are talking about ERAC they probably didn't. We had a similar situation in my office to where a guys kid got diagnosed w/ cancer and his wife got very ill. He was in and out for about 2 months. He used up all his paid days in about a month so ERAC said you have a job, but we can't pay you so come back when you get everything squared away. He was probably written up due to the fact that they had to have some formal documentation that they were not offering him anymore paid days for U.S. Labor Law reasons. You are correct there are no companies that would allow that much time off and still pay. As nice as that would be, companies can't afford to pay the emp. if they are not there. At ERAC you can take as much time off as you want if you are an hourly worker... you just won't get paid if you don't have paid days. As a salary worker you can take as many days as you want but if you take too many days they will start deducting your paycheck. I think we should all feel for this guy.. loosing a loved one is esp. tough.. I just lost one this week, but we should all agree that it is logical that any company isn't going to pay for an emp. that isn't there working. I hope that your family recovers from this time. And good luck on getting a new job... sounds like you could use one... but remember if you are getting Hitched in Aug. the new company will probably not give you paid vacation because your benefits usually don't kick in until 90 days.

| Geez, thanks for looking out Reality and all the others, sticking up for me. Im sorry you fell that way, I never lost a child before, as I have no other kids, it would have been my first. I understand how you can call me a slacker though you are ignorant, you are entitled to your opinion, as I thought I was entitled to a kid, but some doctor @#%$ up and now I dont have a kid, it wasnt nature that was the demise of my kid, a doctor was negligent and we are suing, so in a few years, ill prob. be a millionaire. But i could care less really, as I stiill havent a child to love. If I WAS a slacker, I surely would have been fired, but like I said, they either A) cant find any other schmucks to work here, or B) they really do value me as an Emp. I have no backlashing for those of you who say Im a loser or lazy or whatever, but my life will never be the same, ever.....AND TONY---....AT LEAST YOUR WIFE GOT TO TASTE A CUP OF COFFEE OR WALK ON THE BEACH, i think that was a bad comparison brother. | JeanHo, You do have balls. I am sorry that I couldnt have been in your face when you called me a puss. ( guy or girl, i would smack the stupid smirk off your face) But i digress, because you have no idea what you are talking about, obviously you are a young dumb kid who hasnt experienced life yet. So I dont know why I am even responding to your heartfelt post. A puss, for being sad that my kid was MURDERED, by an incompitent Doctor!! A puss would be taking off because my girl dumpoed me or something, Im sorry the wrongful death of my child, watching the babies hand laying out of my girls vagina for 26 hours while they tried to get the dead baby out of my fiance', having her push and push knowing that the baby is dead and this labor is for no other reason then to expel the rotting corpse inside her, and then having to have a c-section anyway. Oh yeah, her brother had a baby the same night we lost ours. Im scarred for life, dude, Ill never be the same, my baby didnt have to die, and you dont have to be an unsensitive dick about it, opinions are one thing, but @#%$ man, have a heart. Tagger |

You guys kind of missed the point. No shi*t most companies wouldn't pay him for two months. I never said that. I was saying that I'm sure there are companies out there that have individuals working for them that actually have a heart and not hole where it shoud be. The write up, which may have been policy or not, was a little callous and was probably presented to him just as Erac presents everything to its employees----deal with it or you're blacklisted. As it is, I'm sure that he was blacklisted the moment he called and said he needed time off. There is NOTHING that should be more important to an Erac employee than the big picture and making the company money, right? As for verifying 5 companies, I am really not going to waste my time. And if you really want to "call human resources" and verify, you must be a true coc*kgobbler!! I would think that of the numerous and various companies out there, there are many that actually care about its employees enough to show some understanding for something like that. I don't have "hard evidence" but as they say, it's a numbers game, right? I realize that business is bussiness, but there is also something called right and wrong. It's sounds fuc*kin corny, but to me it should take precedent. I am well aware that it's not a perfect world, but you guys seem to have been hardened by something(whether it be a job, the way you were treated, your mommy didn't hold you enough, etc..) Whatever, the reason, you guys, like me, most likely have no fuc*kin' idea what it's like to lose a child. Erac DOES NOT care about its employees. I saw employees that got pregnant and were instructed by their doctors not to be on their feet so long, and were told that they would be letting th team down. I saw employees that were made to feel extremely guilty because they wanted to take time off to get married and go on a honeymoon. I saw employees who came into work extremely ill, and were looked down upon as weaklings who needed to step it up that day. Point being, it seems like upper manager leaves their hearts at the door when they accepted the position. Yes, they make a lot of money, but I don't know how the hell you could look at yourself everyday and actually feel that you're a good person, when you treat people that way. You don't need hard evidence or call to "verify" that to realize that it's not right. I'm not the "expert" on anything, as someone said. But it SHOULD be common fuc*kin sense on how to treat people.

I don't know what it's like everywhere else, but where I was HR was a joke. The HR head was a douchebag, and his job was more like that of Joseph Goebbels. When I first met him I thought he was an alright guy, but as soon as I had to start dealing with him I realized what a complete waste he and the the whole department were.
