Default This Thread Is Probably Going To Start Up A Stir But Here It Goes...

Not to dog on the website or anything - But I'm currently in Car Sales - I was an outside hire. Prior to this job I worked for several large companies and I have to say ERAC is the best choice. Now I know someone here is probably gonna talk shit and say all this is bull and that I bleed green and that i'm probably a recruiter and blah blah blah. Whatever... just to clear things up in Car Sales. I been here for 6 months. My YTD on my check is $39K - I'm grilling soon - I'm on pace for $80K as an AE which means my starting base as an assistant is $75K-80K and I have the potential of making $110K+ in less than a year and it aint hard cause I already roll deals. With potential of being a branch manager in less than 2 years making $150k+ for doing absolutely nothing but marketing my guys and making sure they're in line. (BTW my BM works only 40 hours a week) Today I sold a car and with the FAT backend product comission I made about $460 on that car, it's typical.

Yeah I'm a Used Car Sales Man but Gotdamn I'm fuckin makin money. Plus as a Level II AE (in which someone said previously is bullshit) I drive any car I want on the lot under $17K - FREE GAS - FREE INSURANCE. Which will probably save me about $20K in bills this year. I get free massages every week because I have PPO insurance for $13 bucks a month. I have an expense account which I use to take MT's out to lunch.

All in all - just get the facts straight please. You can talk all this shit about ERAC but you know what? THERE'S NOT ALOT OF COMPANIES OUT THERE THAT CAN SHOW YOU $110k+ in less than a year and possibly $150K + in less than 2 years. I'm not saying there arent any companies out there that would do that but it is certainly RARE! If you find one - congrats! I commend you - for everyone else still searching - good luck!

P.S. For the guy that said that his buddy makes $800 selling cars at the local dealership. That's bullshit - Average sales rep at a SATURATED Dealership makes about $300/car. His CLOSER (TeamLeader) takes 1/2 the cut and whoever else helped out with the deal gets a cut. It's really B.S. and the time frame to move up is ridiculous. Also my buddy works for a Pharmaceutical Sales Company - been there for 5 years. Great Base pay ($55K w/company car) but low comissions. His first year he made $75K and never made anymore than that. Never moved up - nothing - he just hit his cap every year. Oh yea and his boss makes $85K-$90K he's been with the company for 10+ years (what a joke).

Which brings me to the next point. I've browsed around this site looking at what people have to say and all I see really are people who just could'nt hack it. WITH ALL JOBS YOU START OUT WITH - YOU HAVE TO PUT IN WORK - I THINK PEOPLE HERE INCLUDING MY PEERS THAT JUST GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE ALL THINK THAT THEY ARE GONNA MAKE 6 FIGURES OFF THE BAT. VERY POSSIBLE BUT IMPROBABLE. Point is Wash your cars in your suits - work your ass off and move - up. CORPORATE POLITICS & BULLSHIT EXIST EVERYWHERE GUYS - NOT ONLY AT ERAC AND ITS SAD BECAUSE "MOST" PEOPLE THAT TALK SHIT ABOUT ERAC NEVER REALLY WORKED FOR ANOTHER LARGE COMPANY AND EXPERIENCED EVEN WORSE POLITICS THAN THAT OF ERAC. I on the other hand has experienced Corporate Politics that make's ERAC's bullshit look like heaven.

To give some people here the benefit of the doubt. I have seen some dumb shit @ ERAC and I can see why some people are angry. When you start letting it get to you is when you fall off. You think your Area Managers and RVP's didnt experience this shit when they first started? Off course they did. But they rolled with the punches and dealt with the bullshit and are probably now sitting at $200-$250K+ a year in doing so. You know what they're saying in their heads right now? Motherfucker that's right I did wash cars in my suit and I did Rent cars to assholes but Gotdamn it's been X amount of years and I'm sittin pretty. IT'S LIKE THIS WITH ALL COMPANIES - YOU GOTTA PAY YOUR DUES AND PUT IN WORK. IN THE ROUGH NEIGHBORHOOD I USED TO LIVE IN WE HAD A NAME FOR PEOPLE WHO COMPLAINED AND BITCHED WITHOUT PAYING THEIR DUES AND EARNING THEIR STRIPES. "PUSSIES".

If you're earning and you're happy then fine.

However, you are one of the few people in ERAC who don't and have never worked their way through the graduate programme.

Remarketing is a cushy job at the worst of times but the majority of posters here who complain are the standard rental/retail employees.

You have posted a bunch of crap after 6 months on the job.
"I am on pace for..." blah, blah, blah...
First off, things will slow down for the second half of the year and you'll net $65,000.
Next year, maybe $70,000 while driving a different, used, rental every night.
You also stated your starting base as an assistant is base will be $75-$80,000...give your head a shake! Ecrap is all commission. Your base will go up maybe $5,000 as an assistant.
You work nights and weekends and you'll only be a manager when the current one quits or is promoted.
Saying car sales is great compared to rental is like saying a root canal is great compared to child birth.
They still both suck and you are still stuck at enterprise.

I knew I would get responses like these. I'm not doggin anyone - I'm not saying Car Sales is better than rental. I'm saying that 6 months into the Job - I've made close to $40K which hmmm.... means if I don't quit like some people who can't hack it odds are I will do $80K this year - hmmm...lets be conservative $70K - not to mention like I said all the money i'm saving as a Level II AE (haha what a joke right??? what a joke that i don't pay for my own gas -hahaha what a joke that i dont pay insurance - haha what a joke that I dont have a car note)

And you are absolutely right!!! Thanks for breaking down my base pay structure!!! ERAC is all about comissions! ALL ABOUT PAYING FOR PERFORMANCE. Which is why if I net even $70K (this is the conservative number) this year my base will go up about $5K. which means my base as an assistant would be $75K PLUS Comissions. Please.... and like I said before GOTDAMN I AM A USED CAR SALESMAN BUT I MAKE MONEY....

You sound really disturbed btw. Sorry you got f**cked over by your area manager or your RVP or whatever. I said before I can see why some people are angry. But dont be a bitch about it.

Thanks Tim - my thread isnt to brag about my success or to dog the people on this website. Just merely saying my side. Alot of things I see here are negative hence why it is called failing enterprise. I beg to differ.

And Ive worked for large companies - the politics people mention here are all the same with every company. There is bullshit everywhere - not only @ ERAC.

If yo can't roll with the punches IN ANY COMPANY people are just gonna find themselves moving from job to job. Like I did before ERAC

First off, I was an Area Manager and I left on my own. ( I made some decent money while I was there and have no grudge against erac)

Now back to you Mr.Trainee, you are having a good start to your year but car sales is very seasonal and you experienced a good first 6 months. Just like in rental you can have a month with a $6,000/commission check and then the next month $500. I was saying be careful quoting your "on pace' numbers until you finish the year.
Next,I believe you do not know the definition of base pay. Let me help - BASE PAY is what you get paid regarless of comissions. You are stating that your basepay will be $75,000. General Managers make about $75,000 in base pay - Account Executives make $27,000 (?) in base pay or less. I was a level 3 ARM last year and my base pay was $29,400.
Finally if you drive the car for personal use it costs you $200/month. Car,gas and insurance is worth about $8,000 - $10,000 as a benefit not $20,000 as you stated.
Dude, I am not jaded or angry but you are definitely brain washed and misinformed. Wait a year or so and YOU will soon be jaded and angry when your expectations are not realized.

So you'll be okay at your high school reunion telling everyone you're a used car salesman? If so, then cool, but I personally couldn't live with that. Any job that you have to preface it by saying "but I make money" can't be a job you're proud of.

Bro, you are a used car salesman. Its hard enough to explain to the parents that we went to school and ended up renting cars. But damn, how do you make the phone call to tell your pops that he spent his hard earned money to put you through school for you to take that education and GO SELL USED CARS.
