I wasn't trying to attack ERAC, if it was interpreted that way then I apologize. Irregardless is just a pet peeve of mine and had someone of a different view included it in their post, I still would have corrected it on reflex. Again, I apologize for violating the rules of posting.

Default Hey Erac,

I didn't realize jockstraps could type. Ya learn something new everyday. You reek of upper management. That hardass tough guy routine may work on your employees, but not here, bud. You say there are many miserable people in your region? Are they miserable when they are around you? If you're the area or regional manager, then what does that say about your mnagement skills? I bet your retention sucks coc.k. Maybe people take the time to do other sh1t on their sales calls because they don't care. Maybe they use that time to catch up on the 3 hours or so that were switched on their time sheet by the order of some management dic.khead like yourself.

Default Hey realitycheck....

"Don’t use fanciful alternate spellings for swear words, such as “@ss”, “fu/ck”, and “sh1t”. I haven’t implemented any swear word filtering on the board, so all you’re doing is adding the insult of unreadability to the injury of foul language, and gaining no benefit in the process. If you want to write dirty words, at least spell them correctly. Better yet, skip them entirely, as they weaken your arguments by implying lack of confidence in the power of your ideas. If you have something worthwhile to say, showing that you lack good manners never improves your believability."

Again - read the User Guidelines. Posts like that discredit your thoughts and make you seem idiotic. It is much better to come off as intelligent than rude and stupid and immature.

Do us a favor and gather your thoughts before you hit add reply.

Default Thanks!

While I appreciate the innuendos regarding male anatomy, now would be a good time to let you know that I'm a woman. I am neither the area manager nor the regional rental manager, not that really matters anyway.

No where did I say there were miserable employees in my group. I said that attitudes like yours make YOU miserable to be AROUND - FOR US. If hated it - that's fine. It wasn't for you. We didn't make you stay, or apply, or even take the position. It's not anyone's fault but your own. Do your homework before you accept a job. It's a sales position - if you couldn't see that while being told all of the aspects of the job, that's your own fault. Sales people are a different breed of folks. Don't blame the current happy employees for your misjudgment.

I hope that you are doing well in your current job. Every job is not for everyone. Sometimes it takes a bit for people to find their true niche.

I wish you the best in the future!

Default Sales position?

While I agree you'll spend time selling waiver and need good numbers to be promoted, I wouldn't go as far as to call the job a "sales position."

Default Ok

Erac, as for sales--does someone have to sell well in order to run a successful branch? Too many people get promoted there because they have good numbers--but they couldn't run a branch or manage people to save their lives. "sales are a different breed of folks" ?? 'my misjudgment'--are trying to imply that those that leave couldn't hack it in sales and didn't have the numbers?? Just cause you sell well, doesn't mean that you're god's gift to the world. Too many eracers feel that they are and it's quite puzzling.

Not that I care--

I haven’t implemented any swear word filtering on the board
-I didn't realize that a regular poster would have the responsibility to implement such a filtering system. Your use of 'I' is really curious to me...

As for the spelling--huh? They look funny because they will get bleeped out otherwise. As for them weaking my argument---You haven't used them yet, and I wouldn't say that you are really knocking anyone over with your side of things. Perhaps you shouldn't put focus on my use of words, but rather than your your lack of an argument.

Again - read the User Guidelines. Posts like that discredit your thoughts and make you seem idiotic. It is much better to come off as intelligent than rude and stupid and immature.
-Oh did Mr. dull pants get offended?? What are you the board police? Charlie, we've got a 411 in progress on the corner of discussion thread number 5 and 6. Need immediate response. Backup assistance is requested. Repeat again, back up assistence is requested. I'm sure everyone feels much more secure knowing that a Barney Fife like yourself is on it.

Do us a favor and gather your thoughts before you hit add reply.
-Gotta love the condescending tone implied there. It's funny that when someone replies and attempts to make a comeback--they try and belittle the other with condescending tone. Could it be that it is a compensation for lack of originality? Or perhaps that it's simply because the person responding is a good old fashioned fuc.kstick.
Sorry, officer. Better send the patrol car STAT.

Default Re: ...

It is absolutely stealing. If your upper management was more aware of your time, in my region you would be fire the next day. All of our calls are followed up on (by management like myself) to guarantee completion. Good thing you didn't work for me - I would have fired your ass.
Erac,
Let me explain what stealing is. Stealing is not being allowed to give car preps a $.25 raise even after 3yrs with the company. Stealing is paying Asst. Managers $1-2K a year more than MT's..Stealing is giving a Branch Manager a satelite office then pulling his percentage back half a point to make sure he doesnt make anymore because he needs to "earn it".

I recently left ERAC after quite a few yrs (level III) because I couldnt watch the company nickel and dime my employees to death. Near the end, if employees wanted to leave I wouldnt talk them out of it..far from it. I felt they were getting on the lifeboat while the rest of us listened to the band play on. I couldnt do one more rip-off pay plan for my employees and then b.s. them on how great of a deal it was. I liked my employees far too much to contribute to their fleecing. It doesnt get better at the top...use your time with ERAC for experience and then get out fast!

(Hint to ERAC: My employees liked working for me because I actually encouraged them to screw around a bit. The job is a pressure cooker and without 'marketing' time the job is unbearable. Remember, you cant fire someone who doesnt want to work there. If you're their manager, perhaps 'firing their ass' is the best favor you could do them)

Default Tough guy talk

ERAC and/or 62 Pioneer like to talk tough but they both know recruitment numbers aren't high enough to immediately follow through with these type of threats.

I'm not saying it eventually wouldn't happen, it's just not as quick as they would like to scare you into thinking. Have a GREAT weekend (or Sunday).
