Default How about Xmas parties??

We had one in the Poconos...All year long, the employees and managemnet kept trumping up this event to be huge!! Well, to put it plainly, it sucked...We got there for the Happy Hour, which was decent, but sitting through the nasty-ass dinner and two and a half hours of award presentations to people in the group that I never even knew existed, man did that suck. Not to be outdone, instead of simply hiring a DJ, Admin goes ahead and books an alternative band (by the sounds of them, they were probably cheaper then a dj).. It was almost like they expected people to be dancing in their suits and ties, and their dates in evening gowns, while playing Creed and Days of the New, among other grunge songs..I like rock music myself, but not for a "party" atmosphere...Now comes the fun part...When I checked in, the hotel's front desk said that my hotel room was not housed in the same building, from which both the dinner part and band performance were located in. Here I come to find out that my hotel room was located about a third of a mile from the banquet hall...so here I take my ex-girlfriend, whos freezing and in heels, up a gigantic hill, only to get to a barrack like building with cement-block walls (like dorm room walls)...well, whatever. Not only was it freezing cold, but the gosh darn heat didnt work the entire night!! After all, we all know at E that either heat or a/c is a "luxury" item..hahaha....I'd like to hear some of your stories!!!!

Default party

What do you mean... these are a great way to make sure your spouse or significant other can get a taste of the "cult". Shoo her/him off with the rest of the significant others for the night so they can gripe about all the hours that you work while you go party it up with your cultmembers.

Can you say mini Orlando?

Only good thing was getting to see the GM's "true colors" after he had been in the sauce a little too often.

Default XMass Party

I have to admit our groups party was impressive. Free Booze (an enterprise staple) although mixed drinks would have been nice, and decent food. Very nice hotel the event was held underground encompassing about a whole downtown city block. The entertainment value is priceless, someone falls into the water fountain that has a floating baby grand piano in the middle nearly every year. Several people leave their significant other downstairs to grab a quicky with a coworker up in their room, two years ago this led to an eventual open drunken cat fight in front of the escalators. This same year we heckled a guy taking a girl to his room that had a known boyfriend who was at the party. My good friend got beligerant drunk and started shouting at area managers "Hey, JohnnyFck/ing Waiverpants, you gettin' it Doooooone?" (apt my handle here) Like so much of the cult like environment at enterprise, it could be so much fun, and provide so many hilarious memories if you enjoy it from the right angle and it's all behind you. On another note the location of hte party was changed my last year and I heard from people that it was not nearly as nice....so typical, save a couple bucks at everyones expense, it's the enterprise way.

Default partiies

ERAC throws parties with free booze and enocourages employees to sleep with each other while their spouses/sig others are forced only to complain about the long hours. Nice, family oriented company we got here

"ERAC encourages employees to sleep with each other"...That Sh1t is funny. ERAC has a lot of power over some of you. It makes me laugh.
Do they make your kids take drugs, and steal your grandma's purse too?
Sorry to be so sarcastic, but some of you get so freakin sad when you blame a company for all the bad sh1t you make decisions to do yourselves. You can't even take responsibility for cheating on your spouses now. That's ERAC's fault.
Taking personal responsibility is a sign of maturity...get some.

Oh no 62, you don't understand!!! If we don't have engage in the Christmas party groupsex we might get fired! We will be blacklisted! Everyone does it, and if we don't they will look at us like we aren't part of the team. Every single successful person that has ever worked for Enterprise lies, cheats, steals, and makes you engage in extramarital sex. You didn't know about that? Thats probably because you still work there!!!!

Jeanho, I couldn't agree more. Oh no, I was a level III, I must have done all of that or I wouldn't have gotten promoted! I must be the spawn of the devil. But, not to worry it wasn't my fault anyway. They "made" me do it.

I am new to this site, but not to enterprise. you're right 62, mature people do have to make their own decisions, and more importantly, should own up to them. unfortunately the culture at e is one that seems to encourage bad decisions. lets face it, e is a culture of drinking and carousing. why does every event have to be centered around drinking? really, it is a company in which driving is critical to employment, yet happy hours occur nightly, and everyone is strongly encouraged to attend. true, you don't have to drink at these functions, although sometimes it is nearly impossible not to, if you are schmoozing. however, e is the largest employer of new college graduates, where the culture is definitely about drinking and carousing, unfortunately, e proliferates that culture by supplying limitless amounts of alcohol for a bunch of "kids" fresh out of college. Employees are saddled with wearing white shirts and ties because e wishes to emulate the culture of IBM, but the question that i have is whether the IBM culture also includes mandatory happy hours and other such alcohol reliant social events?
