How easy is it to gain promotion

Could you let me know how easy or hard it is for a new management trainee to gain promotion to the levels of:

a) Branch manager

b) Area manager

c) Above area manager

and how long it would take ?

It's a complicated mathmatical formula. Nobody can give it to you because you don't know the secret handshake. Seriously, try a different dissertation, nobody with any intelligence will be interested in it.

not every group is the same, but i'd say about 8 to 10 percent of MT's make it to branch manager, 1 to 2 percent make it to area manager and less than 1 percent go any higher than that.

It's not that hard to become a BM, it just depends on how much $hit you're willing to put up with and how much green you bleed.

The jump to anything higher than that is a combination of luck, politics, and you're willingness to uproot you and your family (if you have one) around the country.

I seriously hope you're not doing a dissertation on Enterprise though, there's gotta be something better to spend your time "researching"

It generally takes around two years to branch manager and 6 to area. Although most leave before 6 years due to poor pay and stress of being at branch level
