Quitting "THE FIRM" can be hard This message goes out to those of you that are unhappy with Enterprise but are nervous about quitting. I'm not here to tell you what to do, but I was in your shoes before to. If you are in a job, any job that makes you miserable from morning to night, then do something about it. Look for another job. Enterprise is not for everyone. I really enjoyed it when I first started, but as I moved up, different experiences caused me to change my mind. However one of the upsides of having worked at Enterprise is the fact that many companies out there know that Enterprise looks for college graduates and work them hard. I guarantee if you want a real mood booster and have your heart set on quitting go on a couple of interviews and just see what they are offering you (hours, benefits, pay, etc). Just from having Enterprise on my resume I was offered a 30% increase in salary to work for my current comany and have never been happier. While I've had some really horrible experiences at Enterprise, I also acknowledge there are some great folks out there that taught me a lot about myself and how to be successful in my future endeavors. One thing pretty much most Ex-ERAC'ers can agree on is their reasons for quitting are usually the pay and the hours. But one of the top reasons people stay are the people. Some are really great. You just have to decide if the good outweighed the bad. Maybe if I hadn't worked in a department that had a 90% turnover rate.....THE LOWEST IN THE ENTIRE COMPANY!!!!! i might have stayed. It was really hard to leave some of my friends in the company, on the other hand I was shocked at how many people I thought were true friends at the company shun me because they felt I was failing them somehow........ while it was hard at the time I'm actually glad this happened, I learned who my real friends were. Not trying to bag the company, but at the same time I acknowledge as a former ERACer it isn't for everyone. BTW it would be really interesting to have a poll on this site. (IE why people quit, why people stay, what kind of odd things people have found in their cars, etc). Thanks for your time peeps!! And good luck to everyone with whatever path you choose to take!! |
