Default Life after Enterprise

I don't know about everybody else, but there are 3 things I have enjoyed since leaving the "green machine". First, I grew a goatee. Second, I was able to actually sleep past 7 in the morning. Third, I never wore another white shirt in to work on its own.

Great, another guy with an ugly goatee, just what we need. Facial hair just indicates you have something to hide.

It's sad how Enterprise ruined white shirts to the benefit of pastel red, blue and green shirts. I think Enterprise guys needed to focus more on the quality of their wardrobe rather than the color. If your suit cost less than $500-$1000, its crap. If your tie cost less than $100-$150, its crap. If your white shirt cost you less than $100-$150, its crap. If your shoes cost less than $150-$200, they were crap. Not that I would expect anyone to spend that kind of money to ruin their clothes washing cars, but if you're trying to turn over a new leaf, wearing khakis and sandals probably isn't the direction you want to be heading. So many people dress like scum. It's nice to see a man look sharp!

How is somebody supposed to afford those types of clothes when they only make $8 an hour? Do you realize how little that actually is? When I was working there, it was difficult just to clear $2200 a month, after taxes. Rent was $675, car payment was about $350, insurance was around $100, and utilities were about $175 for a 1 br apt. Now, that leaves $900 for the rest of the month. That means a $30 a day allowance which has to include money for gas, food, entertainment, and new clothes. It's tough to live on $30 a day, my friend.

Like I said, I would not expect someone currently at Enterprise to be able to. However, if a wardrobe change is in the cards, then perhaps looking to "better" yourself is the way to go.

Are you an idiot? What do you mean by "If your suit cost less than $500-$1000, its crap." Do you mean less than $500, or do you mean less than $1000??? Dickweed... get a life, I am sure YOU CANNOT afford to buy $150 Ties or $1,000 suites... If you do buy these items, I am sure you are up to your ASS in Credit Card Bills.

I agree that a cheap suit is a career killer. I think they were referring to a price "range". Obviously prices will vary depending upon the local and quality of suit you purchase. I routinely purchase items in those price ranges, as an investment in my career. Someone who HAS money, can usually spot a cheap suit from a mile away. And those WITH money are the ones you should be listening to and trying to impress. If you want to be the CEO, try your best to dress like the CEO. After all, you can pick-up a BOSS suit in that range, but may have to hold off on the Canali for later. Everyone should have the experience of trying on a nice suit once in their life. Its like moving from an Aveo to a Ferrari. And for inquiring minds, yes I do have premium tires on my car and plenty of credit to spare.

And one more thing. No, I haven't worked for Enterprise for quite some time.
