Let's see... I believe the first mistake you made was @ 7:26 AM (presumably before your branch even opened its doors)...

"7:26- realize that like everyday, today is going to suck"

Whaddya know?! You were right! I find that most of the time on days when I say it's going to suck, it does. In the first place, body shop & insurance tickets are not always hits--think about the fact that many of those people have never rented before. Alot of them probably live in apartments--where other people are likely to ding and dent our cars. If that isn't a selling point I don't know what is (I usually sell between 40-50% on insurance tix @ I work @ an insurance branch--if you need any pointers, just ask).

You sound like you could use some cheering up! What your branch needs is a football to throw around, one of those Staples "easy buttons", and some really jolly fellow on too much caffeine to prance in the door on fire at 7:00 every morning ringing the "ding!" bells and pressing the easy button ("that was easy!")!! You folks should have branch outings like once a month--a hockey game, a rock concert, or a night on the town--whatever floats your boat (we float several boats a day....pun intended). Attitude really is everything, & your day is what you make of it--at Enterprise or anywhere else, for that matter. Smile.

P.S. What is up with Region C?? I notice that you guys have more pissed-off employees posting here than any other region--you ought to see about transferring to region E. I love my job, and it's because the people I work with are alot of fun to be around.

If you are willing to bust your ass, you can accomplish anything here. As I'm sure you know, Chris Gould just got promoted to General Manager of Detroit after being with the company for only 13 years. He's probably making a little over $2,000,000 a year now--and he started as a CAR PREP!!!!!! (just like I did). If you want, drop me a line via office email--just look me up--I'm at branch 72 in Garland. I don't mean to sound cocky or condescending, but I genuinely love the opportunities this company offers those who work hard, and i really want to help in any way I can. Just let me know if you need anything. Take care.

That is is a good question as to why it is only 09CC employees hating on ERAC. HERE IS THE DAMN ANSWER "MR. I LOVE MY JOB AND MY FEET ARE HANGING OUT OF MY AREA MANAGER'S ASS, BECAUSE I AM SO DAMN FAR UP IT"........TIM WRIGHT. I was the best sales person in 09CC for 26 consecuitve months. I loved just selling and making elite and Yes I wanted to be a manager, but once I got there, I hated it. Being a manager for 09CC was horrible. They want you to motivate people that do not even want to be there. Screw the damn football, bells, and f-ing whistles. They held on to dead weight to keep the turnover numbers down. My motto is: "If you are not here to work, then take your ass home. Do not preach your problems to me, you want mercy, take your ass to church."
09CC is being ran by a person that has no idea how his region feels, if he would have just let the RRM, Kerry Angers, run the region back in 03, 09CC would have won at least 2 Exceptional Achievement Awards, but NO he drove him out, and when that happened, 09CC and its management parrished. I hope that 09CC gets someone new, after hearing that Chris Gould has left for Detroit. Maybe Tim's day is next and he will be spending the rest of his career at home with all the money that he collected over the years, or they will keep him, because he has the close ties with Jack, Andy, and Don.
For all those still in 09CC, keep plugging away on Mondays and Tuesdays and gear up for the weekend...oh I almost forgot, you cannot have a great weekend, because you spend your time thinking...damn I have to be back in hell 48 hours from now. I will drink a crown and coke for you though!

lol at this e-tool right here
your "cheeryness" annoyes your customers and fellow workers.
give it a rest, you are not changing the world, you are renting cars...your ego should get bumped down a notch, think about it. everyone you do business with looks at you as a rental monkey/bitch. all the high fives or attaboys in the world won't change the fact that you and your ilk are the laughing stock of the car industry.
and a super LOL goes out to your "buddy" who got "promoted" to detroit, group 20. you should study up on the region before you cup his balls anymore.
closing branches
terrible car ecomony
shrinking customer base
mass firings
little promotion chances since the numbers suck so bad
this should humble your buddy a bit

I worked in group 14, and this thread is sadly similar to what I had to endure everyday. I quit (of course) and I am currently in grad school. Please, do yourself justice and leave this God forsaken place.

This is classic

You forgot to put at the end of the day:

5:59 Fill out the Daily checklist that hasn't been done all day as fast as you can.

i love this post! I left rental (still work at Enterprise) over a year ago and don't miss one minute of it. Its really not a bad company once you work in one of the "loser" departments.
