Default A Day in the Life of a Region CC MA

If you care, my last monday went something like this:

6:00a- wake up and hit snooze on my alarm
6:20- finally get out of bed and eat some frosted mini wheats
6:35- take a shower and think about the next 11 hours I have to deal
with people
6:55- leave for work and enjoy my last few minutes of not talking to
anyone
7:15- get to work and do the bank
7:25- finish bank, look at reservations-- 25 before 10am and only 10
cars on the lot.
7:26- realize that like everyday, today is going to suck
7:30- phone starts ringing and pickup start happening
7:32- get sent on a pickup to a bodyshop
7:45- get back from pickup and put customer in car
7:50- get sent on a pickup to a bodyshop
8:05- get back from pickup and put a customer in car
8:10- get asked why I didnt sell the last cust DW
8:11- explained that he was keeping the car for 2 weeks and had a
similar car in the shop and didnt want to pay for it.
8:15- get sent on a pickup to a bodyshop
8:20- stop at a gas station on the way to get a red bull
8:21- drink my red bull and listen to the radio for a few minutes while
sitting at the gas station
8:35- get back from pickup and put customer in car
8:38- recieve a high five from my asst for selling them up to a volvo
and getting dub.
8:45- pretend like I am looking though callbacks to avoid another
pickup.
8:46- get sent on a pickup to a bodyshop
9:05- get back from pickup and put customer in car
9:08- answer phone and explain to cust that the contract is open-ended
and he does not need to call everytime he needs the car another day.
9:09- log this in callback notes.
9:15- take a LOFR to the shop
9:20- call branch and tell them to pick me up from shop
9:21- branch explains that it is the last car and to wait for it.
9:22- tell LOFR guy to take his sweet time.
9:24- watch 'The price is right' on tv in LOFR shop
9:55- head back to branch
10:05- walk into lobby and see 10 angry customers staring me down.
10:07- recieve call from satellite branch saying that they also are 8
customers in the hole.
10:09- watch the manager send out a CRT begging for more cars
10:30- get sent on a pickup to a bodyshop in a cargo van
10:45- get back from pickup and do customers paperwork and tell them
that "cars are on the way"
10:50- shuttle a customer in the cargo van to a nearby branch and get
them going there.
11:00- stop at a gas station and get a bag of chips
11:05- enjoy my bag of chips while listening to the radio
11:20- get back to branch to find my manager has 'gone marketing' when
we still have 5 people waiting
11:30- explain to a new coworker why we never tell people we can get
them a 4x4
11:45- recieve call from a stranded person at a shop and tell them we
have no cars available, 3 or 4pm at the earliest.
12:05- do a residential pickup in a cargo van
12:15- get back from pickup and put them in a car that has just
returned and has not been cleaned.
12:30- do callbacks and work the close pend list
12:45- get interupted by my area manager coming in and bugging me about
my sales
12:50- area manager notices people are waiting and does not understand
why
12:55- area manager leaves while everyone is busy
1:15- go to lunch
1:35- think to myself how nice of a day it is
2:22- get back from lunch
2:35- get sent on a pickup to a dealership
2:45- listen to the service writer explain that this is a good friend
and he needs a free upgrade to an SUV
2:46- explain I cant rent an SUV for 23.20/day
2:47- listen to how the service writer explains that the old manager
always used to 'hook him up'
2:50- get back from pickup and put customer into a cavalier and explain
he should be glad he got that
3:15- recieve phone call from customer from a different branch that
wants to switchout to a larger car
3:20- start thinking to myself...it is almost time to leave
3:25- do some more callbacks
3:45- check in car and give cust a ride to the bodyshop
4:10- take the long way back and take the car into the wash
4:15- check in a car and take the customer along with 3 others back to
thier shops
4:45- check in a car and take the customer back
5:00- notice my manager walk in and ask her how her day was?
5:01- she shruggs her shoulders with an annoyed look and keeps walking.
5:10- help a walk-in customer and get pissed because I am already 1 for
10 and dont want to talk to anyone else.
5:30- realize I am almost done
5:35- check in a car and take them back
5:55- walk back into the lobby and notice a line of 8 people waiting at
the counter.
6:00- put a customer into a car while they say..."oh, I didn't realize
you closed at 6"
6:01- explain to them I dont mind staying late and smile and tell them
to enjoy thier chevy aveo.
6:05- help the next customer and put them into a car, I am now 2 for
12.
6:14- come back in and sit down and listen to my asst tell us all how
we can sell better, after all he sold 65% as an MT and an MA.
6:20- start to balance
6:30- notice we are missing keys to a Silverado
6:45- after looking, a new employee said he had them in his pocket.
6:50- leave
7:30- get home and make something to eat and watch "the Simpsons"
8:15- look for something on tv
8:40- realize there is nothing on tv and boot up my computer and go to
failingenterprise.com
8:45- read the post 'retards'
8:50- begin typing my response
9:16- finish typing my response
9:25- wonder if I should go to bed beacuse I know tommorrow is going to
be even worse beacuse we close at 92%

This is the honest truth about how my day went today, except I answered
the phone about 100 more times than I wrote down. I am a year and half
in and am an MA for the last few months and this is what I do and deal
with everyday. So you dont bug me about it, I have made performance
dinners for sales about half the months I have been around. I did consider
myself bought in, but dont really know where I stand anymore. I think
many ERACers can relate.
I am at a very busy branch, about 200 to 300 cars and 7 employees
including managers.

I left ERAC about 5 years ago -- sounds like nothing has changed. Are you looking for another job?
