From what I hear he was sleeping with his administrative assistant. Anyone else hear this or know if it is true?

Not true. He did something stupid no one really knows but was not it.

Jewell bribed airport employees to move 1021 to go on site. With the union problems with shuttle drivers and preps the bribes were brought to Massport officials attentions because of some union leaders big months and they contacted corporate. By firing Mark ERAC can keep legal heat off of them. Supposedly if he was fired there is not much Massport can do because supposedly the bribes were in cash so there is no official trace to Enterprise. Apparantely this is what is holding up 1021's move onsite which was supposed to happen this month.

It's too bad because he was a good guy. He tried hard to get 1021 on site and succeeded but as with anything in mass there were some wheels he had to grease. Knowing he couldn't use company money he dug into his own pocket to take care of this situation so the company would win (although certainly it would have benefited his paycheck as well). Unfortuantely it isn't legal and when you play with the MA unions it can go both ways. From what I know nothing happened to the union officials who took the money.

I'm suprised the story hasn't made it to the papers but I think the union probably is able to keep it under wraps since technically they are at fault her as well. I hear Enterprise paid him his severance though which they didn't have to do but I am sure they want to keep this quite as well.

And no, it had nothing to do with his admin assistant, Mark is very faithful to his wife and an excellent father. What he did may be unethical but certainly not nearly as bad as many of the things done by people in power everyday.

I agree, I enjoyed working for Jewell and its too bad he had to lose his job over something like this. What I don't understand is who was he giving $$ to? I know we want 1021 to go on-site but who can he try to work with to make it happen quicker? Is this going to hurt us in the future?

I don't know how true that is. It seems a bit overboard .. his own money? I heard he simply forged Steve Bradway's signature on some documents concerning Massport. And since they're so Core Value based .. breaking the law is a no-no.

As far as him being nice and fun to work with, you must obviously not know the ugly head of Mark Jewell.

You people have no idea what went on b/w Jewell & Bradway. First of all, no he was not sleeping with his assistant. Bradway, the liar of all liars, used Jewell as the scapegoat on that airport deal. You are right, Bradway seems to be untouchable for whatever reason. He has some talent because it got him promoted to S. Florida but what he did there was all good timing with hurricanes. He has been in GP10 for 3 years and they have yet to win any rental awards at the big meeting they have each October. This guy is a NASTY looking, hot-head who will get his due. I think he is still married and I am sure she is still around because money makes you overlook lots of things!!
