It must have take some serious $$$ to grease that award. Any insights out there? |
I don't think they greased anyone's palm with money. I worked in CC for one year and I gotta tell you that the region had some serious issues. I know that two area managers got fired during my tenure there. One, KT, was fired unjustly and the other, MR, rightfullly so. Morale died after that. The other area managers that are there aren't worth a squat except maybe Rudolpho but that's because I never worked with him. How many rude comments about female employees can you hear before you get fed up?
I know a lot of people left, more like were forced out, when AF took over as RVP. He's a micromanager with good ideas if we had lived in a perfect erac world. The RRM, AMK, left for a bit on maternity leave and once she came back actually started calling people requesting that they work a few hours of overtime every night in order to shuttle cars and run tighter. (Ridiculous if I do say so myself.)
The main reason people left CC, at least that's why I left, was burn out. How often can one work day in and day out hearing the same old crap from superiors, fellow employees, customers and accounts? That's why I left after a long tenure at ERAC. Oh yeah and the pay was a nightmare too. When people get "promotions" to larger offices and realize once they are there that there will be no commission check for 4 to 5 months because of bad debt and previous mistakes made by prioir management, it's kind of hard to "bleed green".
Okay now I'm getting into my own person situation. Anyway, people left CC because they were tired of seeing no pay, dealing with new management, and were burnt out. I don't really feel sorry for HR if they can't keep people. They were never up front with new hires about the non-existent work/life balance or the pay. HR needs to come clean, as does upper management, and be truthful with their employees. What real company would tell their employees, "Hey I know you've been working hard and are beat and haven't spent any quality time with your family in weeks, but I'm going to take you out for a beer after work tonight and make it up to you." I am not kidding, I have heard this before, which I'm sure everyone at the company has too.
Remember this, ERAC is a machine. They know exactly how to intice new recruits when others leave. Go to universities and sell the dream! 6 figures in 6 years! Run your own business! The virtual MBA. It's all garbage! People left CC because people got smart. Others haven't left yet because they have no life outside of work, are brainwashed into thinking a 70 hour work week is normal, or like the perks (drinking, sleeping with fellow ERACers, the great Christmas gifts.)
Some of you may know who I am by my writing style or by the specific examples I gave here. It doesn't matter. I worked in area X if that helps. My life is better after I left ERAC and I don't regret at thing.
