I can't imagine if it was salary could you? That would beway worse.

they (hr) are quick to gloss over this fact in the interview.
don't believe me? then ask the hundreds of peeps who post here.
promotions at ERAC are based on people leaving or getting fired...their is no growth, at least in michigan. as a matter of fact the exact opposite is happening...branches closing up, esp in group 20.
not very good for morale if you ask me.
Wow, I've never heard of that happening and everywhere I've worked we've been growing like crazy, both in rental and in fleet. In fact, the company has grown in the double digits for the past two years, I know.

on paper it sounds great, you have staff to do the little things while you can do your job as a BM. but we all know this isn't the case, branches are notirously (sp) understaffed...BMs and AMs are forced to do the same jobs they did as MTs. reduce turnover and maybe this could be remeided.
Yeah, I've gone back and forth on this when I was a branch manager...thinking about attrition levels, etc...and it's really hard to say what would work better. Pay people more? Work less hours? I'm not sure what would make folks happier in the first part of their career at Enterprise.

and i was most def an avg performer...but this makes little difference. both those better and worse than me hated the job just as equally, and rarely did the top performers stick around for long.
That's too bad, because that most likely fell on their management for not helping get those top performers where they wanted to be.

afterall, who wants to work in this biz, esp those who are naturally sucessful?
I hear ya. It's definitely not glamorous is it? :) I'm definitely not in it for the glamour.

Glad to hear it! We're apparently the only ones on this site.

This stuff is funny! I have been with ERAC for over 5 years and yes it was hard at times but the opprotunity that was given to me and the future opprtotunity that I will acheive is all worth it. Let me ask you people something, what job will you not work hard at? I managed a lot of people thus far and the difference between people that make it and the people that don't is the performance of the individual. It is just like anything else, if you are good at what you do, you move up and make more money!

at the end of the day the money sucks
no way around that...much more profitable careers, renting cars is a dead end for 97% of people

I once worked for GP12 (1243, 1220, 1207, 1250, 1271). From what I hear from other parts of the country, GP12 is pretty good. I did not see all the shady things I hear about on the site go on there. Yes, the hours sucked. Yes, having 20 white shirts in my closet sucked. Yes, washing all those cars in a suit sucked. In fact, quite a few things about the job sucked. However, it did prepare me well for my current job. Wold I ever go back? Hell no. But, I am glad I did it.

The. Pay. Sucks. All the free happy hours in the world can't change that.
