they (hr) are quick to gloss over this fact in the interview. don't believe me? then ask the hundreds of peeps who post here. promotions at ERAC are based on people leaving or getting fired...their is no growth, at least in michigan. as a matter of fact the exact opposite is happening...branches closing up, esp in group 20. not very good for morale if you ask me. |
Wow, I've never heard of that happening and everywhere I've worked we've been growing like crazy, both in rental and in fleet. In fact, the company has grown in the double digits for the past two years, I know.

| on paper it sounds great, you have staff to do the little things while you can do your job as a BM. but we all know this isn't the case, branches are notirously (sp) understaffed...BMs and AMs are forced to do the same jobs they did as MTs. reduce turnover and maybe this could be remeided. |
Yeah, I've gone back and forth on this when I was a branch manager...thinking about attrition levels, etc...and it's really hard to say what would work better. Pay people more? Work less hours? I'm not sure what would make folks happier in the first part of their career at Enterprise.

| and i was most def an avg performer...but this makes little difference. both those better and worse than me hated the job just as equally, and rarely did the top performers stick around for long. |
That's too bad, because that most likely fell on their management for not helping get those top performers where they wanted to be.

I hear ya. It's definitely not glamorous is it? :) I'm definitely not in it for the glamour.
