You know you may be right about that, I really did stop caring, and I did lose my leadership skills. This is what being burned out and uphappy does. However making much more money now and working less than 40 hours/week (working for myself) can really increase a person's happiness. When they have time to see their friends and family, take vacations, and take care of their health its a huge difference. I don't regret that I worked at Enterprise as I could now handle any level of stress any sales job can throw at me. However so many people that work there hate their jobs, and so many people are happy when they leave (Ive talked to dozens of people). Do numbers lie?

Do not let anyone say you were fired because you lost your leadership. ERAC is the poorest excuse for a company I have ever encountered in my life. You were burnt out because they most likely treated you like a slave... aw heck, we all know it sucks. Even the employees.

And yes, I am a former employee who to this day years later is amazed whenever I mentioned I worked for Enterprise. People all say either "I know someone that worked there and they hated it" or "I worked there and I hated it". Seriously, the day i left that placeit was like the clouds parted and the sun started shining.

The ONLY good thing from that place is that I have a few good friends who also USED to work there and hated it just as much as I did.

Pharmaceutical sales is a great job to have, and th person posting saying "only chicks get that job" is obviously perfect material for the ERAC machine.

I just heard that the young guy with grey hair that used to run O'Hare (forget his name....Jason?) got fired down in Georgia where had been promoted to. Oh, and he was cheating on his fiancee constantly.

If you work at Enterprise, and think to yourself and a daily basis, "Man, making $780 for two weeks doesn't seem like much for all the work I do".... QUIT. NOW. Of course, you may be broke, since Enterprise doesn't pay you enough. In that case, get a job waiting tables, bartending, anything, and QUIT. You'll make more waiting tables than you will at ERAC. Then do a real job search with your newfound sanity.

your managers in group 15 are all drunks--ask Melanie and Peach--they can tell you loads--what a mess---but then again, they are the drunks--fine example

I quit Enterprise a while ago, and I have to agree, my life has gotten 1 million times better. I have been told by numerous people that my attitude has changed ever since I left Enterprise. I am actually happy. It was the best decision I have ever made.

I now work at a great company that I don't have to worry about things like...

***Getting depressed on Sunday nights because you have to be at work by 6:45am Monday morning and deal with such things like dealing with angry, impatient dealership and insurance customers who do not have reservations but expect a shiny brand new Lexus for $10/day (or whatever the dealership/insurance company would pay for) first thing in the morning.

***The weather. I now only have to deal with the weather to and from my car and the office. I can dress comfortably throughout the day instead of going outside to shovel snow or scrape ice off a car because you do not want to inconvenience a customer to do themselves.

***Answering that phone all day long no matter if you are busy or not. Apparently the customer in front of you is not as important as the potential customer on the phone. Book the deal!!!!

***Washing cars. I never cleaned so many cars before in my life and we had a full time porter, sometimes two.

***Kissing ass. At Enterprise, you take it in the ass so much, it is expected. Whatever the account wants us to do, we do it, no questions asked no matter how insane the request is (I can get into so many stories...)

***Not having a life. 50 hours? Try more like 60 hours with no lunches, at least. Oh, and if you call in sick on a Monday or Friday, you better be in the hospital.

***Doing everyone else's job, meaning getting corporate leads for the corporate account manager...getting leads for car sales (they don't spend money on advertising because they expect you to do that, and that money goes to???) Go marketing in your area to get more business so your area managers can reap those benefits. And how much do you get paid annually compared to everyone else?

***Selling CDW. It's only 10% of the office's income (if the customer doesn't damage anything), yet it is the most important part of the job. You are so judged by your power ranking, it's ridiculous. If you don't sell, well then you are not good enough. You get awards on top performers, dinners, all sorts of stuff. But, we all know that there are ways to get to the top by cheating on your contracts, and whoever works at ERAC knows how.

***Spending money on clothes. I spent so much money on dry cleaning, new shoes, new ties, and new pants because they were getting ruined at work. My ties were getting sucked in the vacuum cleaner; salt and mud were ruining the bottom of your pants and shoes. I put the daughter of my dry cleaner through college from the business I gave them. Thank God mine closed at seven at night because every other American gets out of their job at five o'clock.

If at any point you hit a "wall" within 6 months of working there, start looking for another job. It only gets worse down the. You may think that once you grill and get promoted to assistant, it gets better. The assistant manager position is by far the worse position in the company. The pay is not any better, the responsibility is 100 times more, especially if you inherit an ass of a manager, and the stress goes through the roof. You are so micromanaged, it's not even funny. Your income goes down one day, your manager, your area manager, and sometimes your regional rental manager will call you to ask you why it went down and if you don't have a response when they call you at 7:15am, you are not serious enough about your job.

You have to eat, sleep, and bleed ERAC green to be successful in this company. If you want a life outside ERAC, you will not make it. I promise you this.

I was told in my exit interview that I had too much stuff going on in my life and that is why I burned myself out. Maybe if I had better time-management skills for my personal life, it would have been easier for me. I am so sorry for having a life outside of my job. Work-life balance my ass!!!!
