Default Re: My Typical Day: Before/After

My day starts usually around 8:30, but if I do come in any earlier I get OT, or just leave early. Lunch is pretty much whenever I want to take it, usually 12:30. occaisionall we have "business lunches" and the nest part is I can still take a personal hour after if I have errands to run or whatever. Day ends at 4:30. Out the door, not thinking about work until the next day when I actually get to work. 7 hours a day, 5 days a week, 5 weeks vacation, 11 paid holidays, get out at 3:00 on the Friday of a long weekend, my own office, climate controlled building, business casual environment, no suit, no tie, no white shirt, a view of the Boston Harbor Islands from my office, real internet and email, people are professional and nice, no customers, oh yeah, and I make more than I did as a BM.

Loved the thread. I made up my own list and have it posted in my office as a reminder of what bad days were like before my new job. Work 9-5 now, 35 hours a week and couldnt be happier. I never thought I would catch myself with a HUGE smile on my face at 630 on a monday morning. But when I'm out on my bike rather then washing cars my face just lights up.

Never again in my life will I tolerate the working conditions I was subject to with ERAC.

5:45AM
Enterprise: Wake up, shower, shave.
Now: Wake up, go for bike ride or driving range / sleeping

6:45AM
Enterprise: Arrive at office, wash cars in suit, check-ins in -30c weather
Now: Riding bike / driving range / sleeping

7:30AM
Enterprise: Open up, get yelled at by 3 people for not opening sooner.
Now: Watch TV / play guitar / play games

9:00AM
Enterprise: Run out of cars, get yelled at. Get more NATRES’s, pipe NATRES cause I
no cars for them but cant get the damn site shut off.
Now: Arrive at work

1:00 PM
Enterprise: Rent cars to people in a hurry taking their lunch breaks
Now: Take a lunch break

2:30PM
Enterprise: Attempt to eat something quickly, or use washroom. Fail at both.
Now: Attend staff meetings (not held after hours starting at 7pm)

3:30PM
Enterprise: Yelled at by ARM for not doing back end of business. Had no time.
Now: Have time to do my job.

5:00PM
Enterprise: Take non-qualifying renter back to house\dealership\bus stop
Now: Leave the office

6:15PM
Enterprise: Help out customers who "just made it in"
Now: Arrived at home 45 mins ago doing whatever I want.

6:30PM
Enterprise: Call ARMS reservations, deliver cars to satellite branch, daily audit
Now: Personal time

7:30PM
Enterprise: Eat dinner, normally alone (wife eaten/gone out with friends)
Now: Personal time

9:00PM
Enterprise: Exhausted, fall asleep
Now: Spend time with my wife that I haven’t seen for 2 years.

Bro, get off this site. Now that your hero B.J.S has opened it back up for business, it will no longer be about ERAC. It will just be about him, his go-nowhere lawsuits, and just people beating him up online.

Do you really want to sit back and watch this? Since you live here like Robert's sorry ass, I'm guessing the answer is "No."

I have also been gone for about a year. I don't need to tell you how much better life is since everyone else did but I will tell you one thing for those people that are still there. RUN AND HIDE, I repeat RUN AND HIDE!!!! You are working for the anti-christ and I hope the Taylor family gets into a boat crash on their 100 foot yacht, you know the one you all aspire for but will never have. I hope I never see John U. driving down the road because I will run his ass off a bridge. I am ashamed I ever worked for a company that has the morals and values that ERAC has. I wait for the day I see the company burn in HELL. So if any on of you are reading this, I have one last thing to say to MB, JU, and GG

F U

and a big shout out to my boys that left: CG,MB,SH,MF,FK

Off topic but sitting here reading things make me think. 10hr plus days 5 days a week & saturday all the while being understaffed. ERAC is quick to post their record profits but we get umm nothing. Holiday party & maybe 2 happy hrs? What kills me the most is winter time. Leaving the house when its dark and coming home when its dark. It really makes you realize that you just wasted a whole day.
