Forgive me if I have not read your previous posts in regards to IT but what does IT have to do with ERAC unless you are working at corporate or for the help desk? Of course the people who interview IT folks on a local group level most likely don't have an IT background..........IT'S NOT AN IT JOB! As an average, IT people do make more per hour but they are also much more of a commodity than Marketing professionals and can be outsourced on a more frequent basis hence the commoditization of the IT field. (Communications is not always a part of marketing and usually leads into some type of creative writing or technical writing which right out of school can usually pay $20-$35 per hour based on where you are....not as much as IT but a lot more than ERAC) In regards to opportunity within an organization, the Marketing path, based on a companies industry and initiatives, can lead to more frequent promotions, more breadth of deliverables and usually a higher pay grade across the board in regards to positions of middle management up to executive. If you want to get really technical about a marketing degree, if you get a degree that revolves around internet marketing or eCommerce then you are going to be able to write your own ticket once you have some experience. With more and more marketing moving away from print and to the web, those are skills that are going to be necessary in regards to companies growing. Make yourself a Web Designer/Web Developer and it's the same thing. IT is becoming an old term as well. It's slowly being moved out and being replaced with the specifics of a duty. Unless a company is technology based (Cisco, Red Hat, IBM etc) then the term IT is usually used by the old guard and being replaced with newer and more applicable terms. Don't knock marketing as I guarantee you have your <snicker> internship (kidding), due to that company having highly strategic marketing initiatives in regards to gaining clients. I myself am not a Marketing Major (Business Admin and Economics) but I know the marketing realm and reaching a broad audience based on speculation, analyzed data and trending is not as easy as you may think. Good luck with your current gig. __________________ "Try not to become a man of success but a man of value." -Albert Einstein

Moving On........... As I sit here looking at the rain pouring down from the confines of my cozy desk, I remember those dreary ERAC days. Those days filled with wet shoes, customers getting rides home at 5:50 on a Friday, and most of all the meager paycheck for tolerating so much abuse. Why would anyone with a college education sign up for this nonsense? Well I would continue to comment but I am leaving work a little early today. Time to start the weekend off right. To those ERAC'ers out there. Wake up, chances are you can do better. The experience on the reusme can be gained from a better employer. Good luuck and Godspeed. -The Dude

ERAC ROCKS! All of you haters need to get a life and a work ethic! I've been working at ERAC for 8 months and I'm ready to grill. My ARM told me he already that he has an AM spot ready for me once I pass the grill (which is cake). In 8 months I'm closer to that ARM position than you losers ever were (since you left before your first 6 months). But hey, I'm happy for ya'll. You found that mediocre job that supports your mediocre life goals. Way to be the best you can be! Only the strong survive ERAC and the weak quit and sell Kirbys for a living. I will say I like this site..I read it on my blackberry during my HOUR lunch break and lmao at the whiners, losers, and pure patheticness that post against erac. Well I got to go, I have a full boat I sold over the phone coming in at 1230. Oh yeah, at ERAC we work hard, but we also play hard! Tonight my ARM is taking the branches bowling which also means free brew and food! Suck on that while you're eating your lean cuisine and drinking schlitz. I'm out!
