Can I just tell you that, in lieu of my new work schedule, also that and having a SWEET CONNECTION, I am so damned excited, especially after tonight's INSANE WIN...oh, man, with everyone screaming their heads off, there will be no way to get cold!!!
Here is my post script, having not really posted on what this site is really about (good news then bad? Read from the bottom up if it is a problem for you (you, in general, not you, Popper...I want to have your baby...j/k, but, you are one of the most sincere and honest posters here))...
The reasons why this particular group doesn't post often are:
1. People are too fucking tired after having worked a twelve hour day and then having to field cell phone calls (gee, I hope their minutes start at seven...) from upper management, accounts, other people CONSTANTLY BITCHING about their jobs, after-hours area meetings (which, if you are an ABRM or above, you don't even get paid to attend, and usually consist of the ARM getting jerked off by the BRM's, then eating ass-cold pizza and talking about the same bullshit that you hear at training...yeah, sell-up, sell-dub, sell-your-soul, etc.).
2. I am concerned that the people in this group are totally bought in, or else unable/unwilling to say ANYTHING about their experiences, for fear of retribution...it can't be because of job satisfaction, because the vast majority of Group 20 employees are not stupid (well, some are, but, maybe more "ignorant" than "stupid"...it's very sad) and realize that their jobs are not satisfying, no matter how you slice that moldy green bread.
3. Since Halloween is coming up, I will entertain the possibility that Group 20 employees ARE actually satisfied with their jobs (insert the main theme from "Psycho," here).
How CAN ANYONE be satisfied with ECRAP? Everyone I met, many of whom are still excellent friends of mine, became bitter and aged at mother fucking TWENTY-FOUR years old?!!! Doesn't that scare anyone? Maybe not, I guess, because that may not be old enough to know any better....I guess it depends on your perspective/life experiences/etc. But, I digress...
IF YOU WANT OUT, MAKE SURE YOU POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
1. A strong sense of self, an undeniably powerful work ethic, and the support of your family and friends. Most likely, the first aspect is a bit torn asunder, but not beyond salvaging. The second aspect is a given, because after you've been ass-raped by management and customers, you've bit down on the bullet so hard for so long that you could be a prison guard and have less issues. You may have to work on the family and friends thing, depending on the length of your "tour." Let them know what you are planning on doing, and don't be surprised if they take you out to dinner/the bar/Chuck E. Cheese's to celebrate.
2. You cannot say to yourself, "I need to pay my bills." Yes, sweetheart, we ALL do, but don't you think you could have a better time with that than lying and cheating, getting bitched at all day long, etc? There are MANY jobs out there that do not require this.
3. Use your time at Enterprise to your advantage. You can get a sales job ANYWHERE where you see an immediate return on your sales. Think of it as getting paid for selling DW, even though you are an MT. THAT'S motivation, my friends. Play up your stengths and you will (and can) do this.
I'm not trying to dog ERAC...all that much. I just know that there are extremely talented, intelligent people still working in Group 20 that are constantly being "overpromised" and "underdelivered" in regards to their potential as human beings. This is sad. For a company that talks about being caring about the work/life balance, concerned about your career, and willing to "go the extra mile" for you, ERAC falls far short. I won't go into more of a tirade, here. I just want to point out that working at ERAC, although at times satisfying a social craving/need to help others/"running a business"/ "the MBA without the IOU"/whatever other lame justification you want to put on it is still RENTING CARS.
Signing off, now...
