I disagree. I learned no valuable skills except how to lie.

If you think it's lying, then all sales are lying. Every single thing that is sold makes a profit in some way or another, so it's clearly costing the consumer more than the seller. If that bothers you then never sell anything or buy anything again.

Don't give me that bullshit. You are selling a product that most people have and you are being deceptive when you sell it. That is why so many customers come back and bitch that nobody told them it was per day and it wasn't explained to me. You'll make up some bullshit excuse about how that doesn't happen very often, but in my 3 years it happened every fucking day. I hated having to cover up for pieces of shit like yourself.

also, the blind sell up. what about "your car isn't here because it got into an accident on the previous rental". typical lies to the customer. the check engine light isn't a big deal, it is just the gas cap. meanwhile 2 hours later you are getting a call from roadside because the car has just crapped out. there is plenty of lying.

You call me a piece of shit and you don't even know me. I sell it honestly, and yes there are people who don't. I've had disputes, and if I truly believe that the customer was lied to (based on who sold the coverage usually) I refunded it. You'll find the same thing that you're complaining about in any company that sells a product or service. These issues certainly aren't exclusive to ERAC or even to the rental car industry. And by the way, after working at an airport you see that we clearly are the MOST ethical company. Budget workers are paid a commission per individual sale and you hear them straight up lie to their customers.

Usually it is the gas cap unless the CEL is flashing. The blind sell up is a sales tactic that would be used anywhere. You are selling them up, they're getting a nicer vehicle for a reasonable price. That is fair. Sure, they'd have gotten it anyways, but in all fairness to the company, they should pay more if they want the nicer vehicle.

You made sense right up to your last sentence. Here's a novel concept. How about have the size vehicle the customer reserved instead of "praying to the rental gods" that one comes in while the customer waits just a few minutes. Don't look book was Dick Baum's motto. We'll get you the cars promise the area manager. Here's two Silverado pickups for your old lady who reserved the $9.99.

The problem with the blind sellup is that people catch on. You had every degenerate in buffalo saying "I gotts to get me one of them 9.99's" knowing they'd get a free upgrade if they waited out the rep saying that the Geo Metro they ordered was getting an oil change.

You are completely missing the point. There's a huge difference between most selling and lying. If you don't see that, then you've got other problems.

Well obviously I can't reveal my identity since I still work there. I really didn't hate anyone that I worked with or that I knew at ERAC. I'm guessing that your initials are either NF or JS. Just a guess...
