I was an MT, an assistant manager a branch manager and finally an Area Manager. I won more fleet growth, OP and ESQI awards than my office wall would hold. In fact, I even won an award where I met Jack and Andy in Orlando. I worked 11 hours a day and dealt with more B.S. from customers and accounts than any one person should have to deal with in a lifetime of customer service and very nearly took a bullet repoing a conversion once.
So, am I the person who couldn't cut it? Yeah, I probably should have given it 10 years. The whole 'couldn't cut it' arguement is so weak its almost laughable. It's the only excuse that the people still at ERAC have for why people leave. Admitting they don't suck and were good employees brings the whole house of cards down.

What is ERACs annual turn over in GP30? 30, 40 or 50%? This sort of turnover in corporate America is unheard of unless you work in fast food. Ask yourself, were all the people that you have seen come and go weak and not able to cut it? Or were they just not happy being used and abused by the ERAC 50-60 hr workweek? Did they get very little personal satisfaction from vaccuming cigartette butts from impalas and aveos then getting screamed at by a grammer school dropout because they can't get a car with a $25 cash deposit and a P.O. box?? Maybe they were just pissed that the company was too cheap to have more than 1 car prep for a 150 car branch yet get shit on by their AM or RM because their ESQI is low.
I finally left because i was the opposite of the arrogant attitude poster. I thought most of the people I hired and then quit were actually bright, hardworking and dedicated people and I was sick to walk into my office and find a resignation letter from another good person. ERAC's business model relies on young people with little or no business experience who don't have much real world common sense and will put up with a lot of shit before they make too much money and then quit to be replaced by another crop of young desperate kids. The first thing you learn at ERAC is employee expenses are the single most expensive and yet the most controllable expense on the income statement. Whats the best way to keep this down? Make sure everyone quits before they make too much.
Long story short: The only regret I have about leaving ERAC is not leaving sooner. To the poster, enjoy your time with the 1,000 people who are doing fine because 775 of them won't cut it and will be gone by next year.
Signed,
Couldn't cut it and Happy

excellent post, bravo on your new life..

Free at last!

-I just had my last day on Friday and am stoked not to have to deal with anymore ERAC crap ever again. I was with ERAC for over two years and I now work in Pharma Sales (big suprise I am sure) which is paying almost twice as much with less hours. I had some fun while working in gp30, but am not sorry I left. I can't wait until my fleet company sets me up with a rental so I can go in and harrass the MTs. I would have to say that above all else, GP30s downfall is the fact that the Sac area is tapped out on Growth. The last two area manager openings have not been opened up and instead divided between other ARMs, which also sucks balls!

Glad to be gone

You know the sad thing? The people who whine on this blog are just the few who didn't cut it. There are over 1,000 employees who are doing just fine. Your response is typical of some one in upper management. You know, I have been with this company quite awhile and I have seen several of you come and go too. An no, most of them were not promoted. They left because they too realized that Group 30 sucks.

My biggest problem is that as upper management you have a responsibility to empathetic to your subordinate employees concerns rather than trying to guess who is "whining" as you so elequently put it. You are a perfect example of why Group 30 sucks.
