My gut told me to skip the first interview, as I felt it was probably dogshit.

Damn! I should have listened to my gut!!!

Agreed. Hindsight is a bitch. I knew something was weird in the multiple interviews, but was desperate for a job. In fact when the "recruiter" from Arizona called and at first didn't tell me the position, just that they recruited for restaurant/hotel/travel industry. I thought for sure they were going to tell me it was a manager at McDonalds position. When they told me Enterprise I thought it wouldn't be too bad because I had friends that worked there and seemed really into it. Unfortunately "really into it" meant the Enterprise lobotomy. I liked everyone I worked with, the whole system was just a goat fuck. My boss was cool, but has been in it so long he couldn't see the forest for the trees. Needless to say, I didn't stay at Enterprise too long. You can slam me for "not hacking it", but I can't imagine how much miserable wasted time there would have been. No matter how much some people, especially from my group, want to talk it up, Enterprise is not what it used to be. Newish (post 1990's) employees experiences were much different. Success rates are not the same. My class A instructor revealed that to me. Ooops.

I think I beat that third day of training...First day of training, sit down, they say turn on the computer, I look at the screen and think "oh my god, what is this, the first apple mac?". It looked like the matrix, and i'm talking only two years ago. I ask jokingly are these just for training, and John (I'm from USC) Smith says, "No, this is what you'll be working with", and he gave me that "trying to be serious look".

Afterwards of course, I ask why these old dusty dirty ass computers are being used, and they said "well every year they tell us we're getting new ones, but it never happens". Same thing happened with RALPH, it was always gonna come out with its newer version 2.0!!! Just wondering if now, two years later, that ever happened???

A very, very slow rollout of ECARS 2.0 has been started...

Canada will get it in 2010
