I used to work in the Accounting Department (I did not have an accounting or Finance degree) on the East Coast. I left and my pay increased by 20% right of the bat and 33% by the end of the first year gone.

The only way to make "extra" $$$ in the accounting department was to log in overtime hours.

Anyway, I would laugh when they would bring people in to interview who had actual accounting degrees. No one from the outside would ever take the job
