Even the Managment Trainee programs at McDonalds and Wal-Mart pay WAY better and have more room for advancement that ERAC.... ERAC is a dead end for losers... bail now and get your career going in a good direction... ERAC is so bad that 12 major universities have banned them from recruiting on campus. ERAC no longer requires a degree to get any job. |
I have a friend that works for Deloite and I will tell you that he works more hours than what you are stating. He works around 40-45 hours during the slow season and about 60-65 hours during the busy season.
I can only speak for myself but when I took on the ERAC job I intended on working for 1 to 2 years with ERAC, to get some working experience, and then test the waters elsewhere. It is rather difficult to acquire a full-time job in accounting/finance without any work experience, its a lot easier with at least a year under your belt. Some of the accounting staff at ERAC had this mentality as well.
The ones that are stupid are the Accounting Supervisors, they all feel that they are the next business managers for the region/group. If you want movement that is absolutely dead than head on over to the Accounting Department.
Further more, ERAC is getting to a point where it is even difficult for them to find people with business degrees for accounting due to the pay not even being competitive. They are hiring more and more employees with Devry/University of Phoenix degrees for the accounting program. I met a few people there in the accounting department with Econ degrees.
